In this talk, the primary speaker (Speaker A) contrasts two fundamental human drives: a primal, aggressive energy he calls "Violence with a capital V" and a complementary, healing energy he labels "love." He traces the evolutionary origins of aggression—from single‑cell organisms to multicellular predators—and explains how this ancient force manifests today as anxiety, anger, fear, and societal dysfunction. Recognizing that modern, globalized life demands a shift, he argues that humanity must learn to harness love within the body to heal and to build relationships based on cooperation. He then introduces the concept of distributed leadership, emphasizing emerging technologies that enable people to connect, collaborate, and create sustainable, self‑sufficient local economies. Using Nevada County as a pilot, he proposes initiating community‑wide meetings to foster shared values, trade networks, and resilience against looming systemic crises. The talk ends with a call to spread the word and attend two upcoming meetings, followed by a brief promotion from Dr. Emmett Miller for his mind‑body health resources.

There are times, you know, you need to eat. And so in order to eat, you need to pull that carrot out of the ground, which kills that plant. You're gonna die if you don't eat. You have to do that. So some of the things that you do in your life are violent, and that's what I call this other energy. Violence with a capital V. It's that one that sets up a difference between us as opposed to that one that looks for what we have, what we have together as a, as a community. And in looking at our interplanetary leader, when he looks at this development of the life force, and all of this community, there's a dark force that comes along at the same time. In the beginning, all these little one-celled animals, they just swam around and eat whatever chemicals were there. And then you had multicellular animals and they kind of ate whatever was there. But pretty soon animals discovered, "Hey, I don't have to go out and eat all day long. I can catch another animal and eat it." And so all of a sudden tooth and claw became the name of the game. And so you had predators, and now you had victims. And so this is really how the world developed. We developed out of that. And so there's an ancient history within each of us that is aggressive, it is defensive, it feels anxiety, it feels anger, and it looks for differentiation. And it produces the kinds of conflicts that we see, it produces the fears that we have. It produces anger, it produces the resentment, and ultimately gives rise to all of that, all of this dysfunction and all of the imbalances that we see around us. As I said, it was okay if we had that energy, we loved each other, and maybe we didn't like those guys out there, and we could be angry with them. The problem is now because we've become a globalized planet, we need to shift. We need to rise up to this next level where we understand what it is to— we understand that force that is within us that I call love, that we understand how to use it, that we understand how to use it within our own bodies to heal ourselves, and that we learn how to create relationships with it. And then as we go on here, we'll be talking about working with distributed leadership. There's excellent technologies that are now available where people can learn to connect with each other. I would like to initiate that here in Nevada County. We're coming on a world— things are tough out there, but it's not over. And I'm concerned that the worst has not yet come. We have not dealt with the problem. What we've done is to take out a great big loan which is going to keep us afloat for a little bit longer. In the world that's coming up, those communities that have learned to work together, that have learned to communicate together, that have learned to find common values, and that know how to create a sustainable system within themselves, they're going to be able to survive. Those groups that are able to do that will find that there are other groups and communities that are doing that, and we will be able to— we will be able to trade with those communities so that some of the things that we specialize in can be available to them and vice versa. But this globalized system is not going to be there anymore. Right now we go down to the store to get it. We don't really trade with another person. But these are some of the things that we can look forward to happening in the future. So I'm hoping that we can begin to get something started and that those of you who are here, I'm hoping that you will tell as many people as you can so that we can have more at our next two meetings that are going to be four weeks from now and then four weeks from then.
