In this introductory video, Dr. Emmett Miller welcomes visitors to DrMiller.com and outlines his mind‑body medicine philosophy. He claims that about 80% of illnesses have strong mental and emotional components that can be prevented or healed through mind‑tools. Miller describes his Guided Imagery program—developed in the 1970s—as a four‑step process: (1) entering deep relaxation, (2) accessing inner healing resources, (3) using creative imagination to envision desired outcomes, and (4) rehearsing a new mental script for the future. He asserts that this approach can treat chronic diseases, emotional disorders, addictions, and performance issues. Miller mentions his extensive catalog of over 60 CDs, videos, books, and MP3s, and points viewers to the website’s Learning Center, free audio/video articles, a weekly internet radio show, and ways to schedule appointments. He offers two free gifts—a download of his recent book Our Culture on the Couch: 7 Steps to Global Healing and the main track from his Relaxation and Inspiration CD—for anyone who signs up for his e‑newsletter, assuring privacy of personal information. The video ends with an invitation to explore the site and a hopeful note about meeting in person.

Welcome to the new DrMiller.com. I'm really excited to share with you some wonderful new perspectives and tools for self-healing, for transforming your life, and for finding happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment. And to get you started, I've got two free gifts for you, which I'll tell you about in just a moment. My name is Emmett Miller. My life's work has been discovering how to help people deal with the most difficult of life's problems: chronic illnesses like cancer and heart disease, mental and emotional imbalances like anxiety, anger, depression, PTSD, and the many diseases, harmful habits, and dysfunctions that are caused by stress. Now, back when I entered the field of medicine in the beginning, What I discovered, and what has been proven by innumerable studies done since then, is that 80% of our illnesses have strong mental and emotional components, and they can be prevented or even healed through the use of the mind tools that you will learn about here. The mind-body approach I created differs from the approach that mainstream medicine usually takes. Instead, it addresses the entire person—mind, body, emotion, and spirit—thus treating the true source of your symptoms. This new approach I developed back in the 1970s is called Guided Imagery, and it consists of: 1. Entering a deeply relaxed state, such as you may know from meditation or prayer, or even self-hypnosis. 2. Accessing your inner healing resources. 3. Using your creative imagination to create your desired goal. And 4. Writing a new script for your future using mental image rehearsal. In this way, you can heal your body, balance your emotions, overcome addictions and dysfunctional behaviors, achieve peak performance, and become an active participant in your own healing. Based on these discoveries, I've published over 60 CDs, videos, books, and MP3 downloads to help you apply these ideas and techniques in your life. As you will soon see, you don't just listen to guided imagery, you actually experience the imagery that's presented. You'll find these guided imagery programs here at DrMiller.com. And as well, you'll find the Learning Center where you can learn more about Mind-Body Medicine and how it can help you. Free resources including audio, video, and written articles that I've published. Upcoming events like my weekly internet radio show, Conversations with Extraordinary People. How to make an appointment with me by phone, Skype, or in person, and more. So feel free to explore the rest of this page and make sure you check out the free guided imagery samples at the Listening Station. Oh, and about that free gift— sign up for my free e-newsletter on this page, or go to drmiller.com/newsletter, and you will receive a free download of my most recent book Our Culture on the Couch: 7 Steps to Global Healing, and a free copy of the main track of my guided imagery CD, Relaxation and Inspiration. These will give you a really good sense of my work. And by the way, I will never share your address with anyone. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope one day we might even meet in person.
