Enrico Schaefer argues that using AI well means slowing down and being deliberate: write precise prompts, give enough context, and use step-by-step reasoning. Attention is your most valuable resource in the AI era.

So there are so many counterintuitive things about using AI. That's why we always talk about how important mindset is. You have to have the right mindset when you sit down with your AI tools because it's a different way of approaching work than the way you approached it over the course of your entire career. You have to really recalibrate, and one of the ways that you need to recalibrate is You need to go slower. When you are having good AI days versus bad AI days, the difference tends to be whether or not you are moving fast or moving slow. If you're very methodical and slow and calculated and thoughtful and introspective, and you really engage with the tools in a way that is, you know, fully engaged intellectually where you're getting as much out of it as you're putting into it, those are the days which really generate the best output and the best productivity and the best quality. So tip of the day, you need to go slow as you maneuver through your AI tools. You need to make sure you're providing great prompts. You think about those prompts. You provide just the right amount of, of, of context to your GPT thread or your project or your GPT assistant. And you really go step by step, just like the better analytical models, step by step chain of thought. There's so much we can learn from AI. You've heard me say it before, your most precious commodity in the age of AI is attention. Attention is all you need. Where'd we learn that? We learned that from AI. We learned that because that's how they built ChatGPT, is following the attention model. So an important lesson, attention is all you need. You also need to think step-by-step, chain-of-thought reasoning, just like the AI models. And when you start to mimic what the AI is doing in your workflow, you're gonna see incredible results. My name's Enrico. We'll see you next time.
