Enrico Schaefer walks through ChatGPT's new Projects feature, which organizes chats into topic folders. Canvas, coming soon, works like a Word document inside ChatGPT with edit and undo buttons, replacing the need for separate threads. OpenAI plans a full training series on Canvas in late February.

My name is Enrico Schaefer. Welcome to this course on the new feature for OpenAI's ChatGPT called Projects. Welcome to this video series on ChatGPT Projects. This is part of an exciting news series covering some of the groundbreaking functionality OpenAI has added to its platform over the last several months. For those of you who were part of the 12 Days of Christmas, where OpenAI announced a new amazing feature right up leading through Christmas, this was one of the new features that they announced. And it's called ChatGPT Projects, and it allows you to organize your different chat threads by topic. Now, that sounds simple, it sounds like folders, but it's far more than that. Not only are we going to explore project folders, but we're also going to introduce the powerful new feature called ChatGPT Canvas in upcoming training series. The Canvas feature transforms how you work with ChatGPT in ways that are probably as compelling and meaningful and important as any new ChatGPT feature. So stay tuned for that training series, which will be coming up towards the end of February. So what is Canvas and why should you stay tuned for that particular training series? Because it offers an experience similar to Microsoft Word. Right now, when you're working with these chats, it's just a threaded conversation. So every time you make a modification or add an instruction, it starts again, adds a new output, and just keeps going. So finding your old outputs, understanding what was changed, very difficult. So instead of generating a new thread for every interaction, Canvas allows you to work within the same document seamlessly And it allows you to make changes, undo edits, track progress. It's a game changer. You want to think about this as like it's a Microsoft Word document, and ChatGPT is going to overwrite its prior output within the context of that canvas, within the context of that document. If you're already using ChatGPT in your professional workflow, then we're going to jump right in and talk about the functionality and GPT projects, and this course is going to help you unlock the full potential of ChatGPT projects, which is really one of the more important product enhancements ever for OpenAI. And we're going to talk about why they actually added this functionality when in fact we already have the ability to create GPT assistants.
