Today, we're going to talk about 3 big e-commerce marketing trends for Q3 2021 and beyond.
So I'll go first. Trend number 1, and these aren't going to be sexy trends, but these are the trends we're seeing that if you're in e-commerce, you really need to adapt and take seriously. So trend number 1, because of COVID everyone's been jumping online. The inventory of ads online hasn't drastically gone up or anything like that. They're still super competitive. But the cost has gone through the roof. So for that reason, the biggest trend that I'm seeing right now is companies really need to focus on CRO. If you don't focus on CRO, you're not going to survive in the e-commerce landscape because it's just becoming too expensive. And when I mean CRO, I'm talking about your product page listings, your homepage of your e-commerce site, your upsells, your downsells, your funnels. That way you can get your average order values high up enough, as well as your conversion rates. So that way you can keep spending money on ads to keep scaling and growing.
All right. Number 2 from my end, shoppable livestreams. So China's done a great job with this. We've talked about this on the podcast before, but Amazon's in the game now. I think, I'm sure there's probably some Shopify plugins that allow you to do shoppable livestreaming, but it just makes a lot of sense. People want to see it. If the influencers are talking about it, they want to be able to buy the product immediately, right? It makes all the sense in the world. So shoppable livestreams, take a look at it. It's just going to get bigger and bigger. So jump on it. you know, before it gets more cost prohibitive.
Yeah. And the last one is actually voice search. You guys already know about voice search, but voice search, here's what most people don't realize about it. It's expected to hit a $40+ billion industry in the US and UK combined by 2022. So that's pretty much, you know, half a year left. That's massive. Voice is really popular in Alexa, but what people don't really realize is Today, 13% of US homes have a smart speaker, and 36% of those homes regularly use the device to make purchases. That's crazy. Just think about that. Of the people who have smartphones in the US and UK, roughly 36% of them are using it to make purchases for e-commerce. So you got to start leveraging it and doing voice search SEO and being there, make sure your products are listed there so you can start generating the sales as well. And if you don't, you're going to miss out on a ton of revenue in the future.
