Today we are going to talk about how to win at SEO for this year and beyond. So first things first, there is a new update coming from Google called the Google Helpful Content Update. And what that really means is don't write for search engines, specifically using a lot of these AI tools. Google is starting to catch on now where they understand that these AI tools can churn out a bunch of content and sites can rank very quickly using this AI content because they try to generate unique content. If you're enjoying this, stay to the very end because I have a counterintuitive tip for you. So the other thing is that speed matters. Core web vitals, you know, running your website through Google PageSpeed Insights. If you can't deliver a fast experience, what happens is people will bounce, and then at the end of the day, they're not getting what they need. Don't forget to hit the like button because it helps with the YouTube algorithm. Number 3, links still matter. The 2 pillars of SEO, still content, still links. Even in today's day and age, you got to figure out how you can get links. Maybe you can build links, maybe you can create a widget or a tool that can attract links, or maybe you can go buy something if you have resources. For example, my podcast co-host, he bought Ubersuggest and he bought Answer the Public. Both those tools have a ton of links. So if you can buy the link equity, go ahead and do that. The other one is combine, delete, and upgrade the content. Those all tend to work well, but we tend to always think about we should be producing new, new, new content all the time. Now, by the way, if you want more content like this, don't forget to hit the subscribe and the notification bell. Next one, internal links still matter because the search engines, they need signal to determine what pages are important on your site. You have internal links pointing to certain pages on your site, then what happens is you make it easier for search engines to crawl your site, and then the important pages are going to be found. Now, the other one is optimizing your click-through rates, and what I mean by that is your headline and your meta description. Your headline and your meta description, what's going to drive people to actually click. So you actually have to do a good job there. You can use Google Webmaster Tools, and they have the ability where you can see pages where you're getting a high impression count but a low click-through rate. So you want to think about upgrading those, and you want to think about adjusting those over time. The next one is YouTube SEO. YouTube is still the second largest search engine in the world. SEO doesn't mean just Google, it means anything that has a search engine, and YouTube certainly makes a lot of sense. You can use tools like vidIQ to help you. TubeBuddy would be another tool that you And then the last one that is more counterintuitive, it's really focusing on your category. And so for Google, they don't want you to write about a bunch of different things. Most people aren't media companies, right? If you are focused on marketing, then just focus on writing on marketing. It's the same thing with the YouTube algorithm. If you start to talk about too many different things, it confuses the algorithm. Also makes it more difficult for people to continue watching your stuff. Let me know what you think I missed in the comments.
