Eric Siu explains how Stripe is issuing credit cards to AI agents, letting them autonomously buy services like Cloudflare domains and spin up landing pages. This enables new kinds of autonomous commerce: AI ad managers, e-commerce procurement agents, travel agents, and bookkeeping agents that can make purchases on their own.
Stripe just gave AI agents credit cards, and I think this is a really big deal. If you wanted to spin up Cloudflare, have your Stripe agent be able to purchase Cloudflare domains, for example, or other Cloudflare workers, you can spin up different pages that you want, landing pages that you want to test rapidly. Anything you wanted to test, you could have these agents just spinning them up, put them on a subdomain or whatever, get them up. You can rapidly test because these agents are able to purchase for you. Anyone can now get an agent to spend money on their behalf. If Stripe's payment API created SaaS, This spinning API creates autonomous commerce, AI ad managers, AI procurement agents for e-commerce, AI travel agents that actually work. So, and then finally you have AI bookkeeping agents. I think we're just going to see more and more of this stuff.
