Eric Siu cites Gavin Baker's estimate that only 250,000 to 500,000 people worldwide are deeply immersed in AI tools, roughly 0.007% of the global population. He argues this proves AI is still in early innings, not the mature technology many assume, and that jobs will be reshaped rather than eliminated as adoption spreads.

Gavin Baker was saying this, and I didn't know the number was this small. So it's like 0.007% according to what he said. He says that it's likely that 500,000 people in the world are super AI-pilled right now, if not like maybe even 250,000. So if you divide that by 7 billion, it's 0.007%. It's a very small number. What does that mean exactly? If 250,000, 500,000 people are AI-pilled, what that means is we're going to need way more compute, way more electricity, way more a lot of things, and agencies are not dead. Okay, the harsh reality of AI right right now is maybe we're just the second inning, maybe, and, and that's it, right? But all this talk about agencies are going to be dead, no one needs ad managers anymore, this and that— I just don't think you can say that for a lot of these roles. And a lot of the roles that people don't want to do anymore, they're going to be reskilled into other areas. Harsh reality, only $250K to $500K. That puts things into perspective.
