Content creators should treat their work like software, obsessing over retention metrics. If you can triple retention to 21% by month three, viewers return more often and share more, triggering compounding growth that signals quality to the algorithm.
If you're a content creator, you gotta think about almost like you have a software product. And software products, what matters at the end of the day is how well you retain people. And so you can look at your retention graph and you can see how people are retaining over time and how you've improved. If we're able to retain 3 times more, maybe 21% by month 3 or so, we're gonna have a compounding effect. Because what happens is these people come back and these people also continue to share as well. And then that's how the downloads will stack because it means the product is a really, really, really good product. And that's what we're aiming for at the end of the day.
