Amazon has this concept known as bar raisers, meaning that every single person that the company's going to recruit, they're going to raise the bar for the average of whatever team that they're joining. Let's say you're a founder that's listening to this right now. You got to think about bar raising from a founder's perspective. For example, when I get involved in the hiring process, in my mind I'm asking myself, okay, well, one, is this person smarter than me? 2, would I work for this person? And 3, do we have a place where we know this person can really excel? Right.
