Eric Siu questions whether entrepreneurs actually want to build great businesses or just enjoy the perks. CEOs spend time on sales calls because every dollar of revenue matters, and most people aren't willing to do that work.
Are you trying to build great businesses or are you trying to get the fruits of great businesses without doing the work? I only say this as somebody who I'm tempted on a daily basis. We have CEOs that run our companies. You would be shocked at how many times a day I get on a call, not a week, not a month, not a year, a day. I get on a sales call for something that is $5,000 a month and people will literally say, oh, this must be important to you. You're on here. And what I almost want to say back to them is, yeah, every dollar of revenue is important to me because that is our oxygen. Mm-hmm.
