Today we're going to talk about if YouTube Shorts are worth it. Quick answer for you is yes, because there is someone, his name is Jake Feldman, grew his YouTube channel using YouTube Shorts only from 0 to 3.2 million subscribers in a span of 5 months. Am I saying it's easy? Absolutely not. The work that he puts into it, the detail that he puts into every single Short, it's crazy. He puts in a ton of work. Like, he's actually showing time lapses of him working on the Shorts, and it takes him hours and hours to do, um, just for like a 15-second or like a 16-second clip. You know, he's just Exploded, right? He's trying to do it on Instagram Reels. He's trying to— I think he's trying to do it on TikTok too. But Shorts, if you're not familiar, it is YouTube's answer to these short-form videos, right? Again, Instagram Reels, TikTok, even Snapchat Spotlight or Snap Spotlight. I think Shorts are here to stay, obviously, because you've seen these companies do so well. And I mean, he's just kind of— the proof is in the pudding right there. There's actually somebody else. Her name is No Dog Shorts. She made a separate channel, and I think it grew to about you know sixty seventy maybe it's at a hundred thousand subscribers now, but it's all focused on shorts. And when you look at the creator of one of the co-founders of Twitch, Justin Khan, his normal videos do pretty well anywhere from ten to fifty thousand views or so. But his shorts, they're getting like one hundred fifty to two hundred thousand views. Massive massive difference, right? Could be like a four to ten x type difference. Is it worth it? Absolutely, because whenever a new feature is launched by any of these big platforms, everyone they tend to favor it. If you can. Take the original content you have and chop it up, and then or actually edit it, and to make it a 15 to 60 second video. I think you've got a great video that you can convert into a short. And my opinion when it comes to social media is you're ultimately looking for for more reach, right? And so it just makes all the sense in the world to explore it, take a look at it. YouTube actually added the YouTube the Shorts beta button into the the app, and just play around with it, see what happens. And then maybe you have a video that explodes, and you do more of it. I can tell you. You know, when I'm on— when I'm doing Reels on Instagram, um, you know, those get a lot more reach than, than usual. And then, you know, I just started doing the Shorts, right? And I'm actually gonna be interviewing, uh, Jake Feldman as well. But I'm telling you right now, as of this recording, looking into it, speaking to a lot of different people, it's something that you don't want to get left behind on. And I think it's going to be one of the rocket ships of 2021. All right, so, uh, go check out Shorts, start implementing. And here's the beautiful piece: if you don't have the resources to create an amazing video. Now you can just take out your mobile phone, try to mess around with Shorts, grow your audience that way. And you don't need to worry about just being a YouTube creator where you need to have, you know, crazy backlighting, you know, an entire team helping you out, crazy thumbnails and all that. I think the thumbnails and the headlines are still very important, but all the other stuff now they've kind of lowered the bar to let people in and just ultimately create more content. All right. Don't forget to check out the next video over there. Okay. Over there. And before we go, open a new tab, levelingup.com, to learn more about the book. We may or may not have other goodies tied to this book. All right, levelingup.com in a new tab. You can check out the next video first in a new tab, and we'll see you later.
