Axie Infinity's new battle system, Origin, gives new players three free starter creatures and faster combat to learn before spending money. The co-founder says the current game requires research and purchases upfront, making it hard for newcomers to start.
Axie Infinity Origin, which is kind of our 3rd iteration of our battle system. It's going to be faster. The animations are going to be better. It's going to be more skill-based. Most importantly, it's going to be more accessible, right? So anyone will be able to download, start playing, get 3 free starter Axies, and start falling in love with the universe, understanding the mechanics before they have to make any financial decisions. Right now, in order to start playing, you actually need to figure out what the meta is for a game that you've never played before. That's actually why referrals are really important right now, because usually people will say, hey, I'm going to give you these Axies, play them. this way, they're going to go well together, right? It's very difficult as, right, to go from zero to purchase on your own. Like, you have to be really driven. You have to do a lot of research on YouTube and Google and stuff like that.
