You start off, you're inspired by the YouTubers you watch, so you try to copy them, but you don't give people a reason to watch your videos over theirs. During that first year of this channel, I was really struggling because at the time I was watching Graham Stephan, so I was kind of making videos similar to him. But because I was kind of just copying him, I wasn't giving anyone some inherent reason to watch my videos over his, which is what I see a lot of people do when they first start on YouTube, which is okay. A year in, I knew I had to change something, so I read the book Blue Ocean Strategy. It teaches you how to go into any crowded niche, any crowded industry, and carve out your own little blue ocean to where you're not competing anymore because you created your own little sub-niche where there's no competition. That's how I finally like broke through and finally started growing.
