Everyone is looking up to Elon Musk, but...

Eric Siu examines why people admire Elon Musk while rejecting how he lives. The speakers prefer Richard Branson, who balanced business success with philanthropy and knowing when to stop.
Everyone right now is looking up to Elon Musk, but like Elon, I don't really want to be Elon.
No, like I think we admire him, but I would not want his life.
I think having good role models here helps a lot. And yeah, I looked up to— originally it was Warren Buffett and Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. And like, none of these people are really like hitting the mark for me. And then I found Richard Branson and I'm like, yes. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. I just thought, what did they win at? Because like if you're jealous of someone, like you got to think, would I swap every part of my life for every part of this person's life? He spent Thanksgiving Day hanging out with Donald Trump, not with his kids. Is that the type of person I want to be? No, but I respect it. I admire it. Then I look at Richard Branson and he's able to have his businesses and do so much amazing philanthropy and helping the world, but he's not the most successful. He's not the richest man on earth like Elon, but he knew when enough was enough. He's my hero.
