Fable 5 Turned My Company Into A Video Game

Eric Siu shows how Fable 5 turns business operations into a visual game with a town metaphor, quest boards, and leaderboards. The platform connects to Stripe, HubSpot, and GA4, tracks health indicators, spots bottlenecks, and rewards work with smart contracts.

I use Fable 5 to create a business command center that turns my company into a video game. It has a main dashboard, it has empire briefings, it has quests, it has your different connectors, and a whole host of other tools that make your business more fun. And the big idea is simple. Most companies have too many dashboards. Mine is a system that tells people what quest to take next. So here it is. Think of this as World of Business. So you have this business command center here, and you can see here, if we start with the very middle, you can see that you have a townscape here. So this can become a castle, it can become a— it can become an entire city, it can become a lot more than this. Right now you just kind of see this town over here. Okay, so this is just— this is dummy data over here. You can see over here this product factory piece, you can see that this is burning over here, right? And if you go over to what the reason why it's burning is, it's talking about your metrics aren't going well right now, and it's saying it's pulling from Mixpanel as a source, and it's saying, hey, your signups are actually going down over here. Here's the target that you set, you need to do something about this. And you can see the building is actually on fire. Okay, so you can see the building's on fire. Now where it's thriving is this one. So you can see there's like gold coins coming out, there's a green flag on top, and it's saying, oh, MRR is actually up $352K from $318K. Here's your net burn over here, here's your cash on hand, and this can pull from Stripe as an example. So the difference here now, when you have— when you think about business, it is a series of engines, right? You have a sales engine, your demand tower, your finance base, product factory, customer health hall. And then over here, you can see this is fogged. This is grayed out over here. This is, this is fogged out because we don't have our marketing connectors added in here. So you can see this is unverified, and then this is obviously mock data here. And so we can connect Stripe, HubSpot, Gong, Mixpanel, GA4, Ahrefs. And the more connectors you add, the more useful this is going to be. Now, what ends up happening here is that you can see this daily empire briefing on the right side. Okay. So this daily empire briefing here, you can see, oh, okay. What's on fire right now? You have this activation leak, which I talked about earlier, and you can, you can view it on map over here and you can see it's burning again, high confidence, right? Where's growth blocked right now? Pipeline coverage at sales engine. So coverage slipped 2.4x to 2.1x. Demand is strong. The block is conversion, not traffic. Okay, let's view this over here. It's connecting to HubSpot, it's connecting to Gong. So you have your CRM, your sales intelligence. And so what happens now is that you can log into this every single day and you can see what's on fire, what needs more work, and then you can decide if you want to hand these things off. But it's keeping it front and center. And by the way, your entire team can see this as well. And so as you grow more and more, let's say your business gets From $4.2 million ARR, maybe it becomes $20 million ARR. Okay, the town becomes a little bigger. Maybe it becomes $100 million. Oh, maybe it becomes a billion dollars in revenue. Then you have an entire— let's say you have an— you might even have an entire little country, right? You might be wondering now, like, what's the point of having all this? Well, we have this quest board over here. What's cool is that you can say, okay, well, here's a quest, and someone on your team can take this on. They can say, hey, you can repair the activation funnel, the instrumental Funnel shows the 34% to 45% gap concentrates in step 2. Okay, so this looks like it's a— this is an interesting quest. Maybe I want to take it on. And you can choose if you want to add bonuses to this. So you can see in your company who's taking on the most quests, who's completing the most quests, and you can choose if you want to have smart contracts or stablecoins reward these people, right? Or you can see this one over here, run a stalled deal revival sprint. So 6 deals greater than 30 days, these are, they're stale and then they hold $410K of the $1.6 million pipeline. So if you actually have a restructured campaign over here or like a structured re-engagement play, you can go after these people. So you can choose if you want to accept the quest or not. So you click on the building, you can see the sales engine is actually constrained right now. So everything about business, if you've read the book Thinking in Systems, that's one piece. So everything in business, you have systems in there, right? But you also have constraints. So there's a book called The Goal, which talks about the theory of constraints. You're always going to have bottlenecks within a business. And so these are kind of the main areas of a business That's B2B SaaS, but we also have a B2B services one. Let's say you're running a services company and you can see this one's a little different over here. You know, the sales engine is maybe under construction right now. It's underbuilt. You can see this demand towers over here. It's underbuilt as well. And then this, this, uh, this marketing, uh, this market scouting tower, right? And so this, this, this is still on fire over here. And this one's called, uh, you know, it's called Harbor and Pine Consulting over here. And here's the revenue, right? So you can, you're just constantly looking for bottlenecks and you're never going to solve all of them, right? There's always going to be some areas that are better than the others. And that's what business is. It's knocking out bottlenecks consistently and then moving on to the next thing and making sure that the things that you fixed stay fixed. And that's how you make it more of a game. I've always looked at business as a game. I've always looked at life as a game in general. And now this makes it a lot more tangible because you have great models out there like a Fable 5, right? So you can choose to accept this quest or not. But I can see this growing. When people click on the quest board, they can choose to accept more or not. And the way I see this right now is that I can start to run this for my business. and see what adoption looks like. And if adoption looks good, then maybe I want to expand this out where I can let people access my World of Business, right? But even going beyond that, I can make this accessible. Maybe I can make this open to everybody. Everyone can join World of Business, and depending on the connectors that they're willing to add, obviously making sure that we have security taken care of here. But imagine if everyone's putting their business into World of Business, then everyone can start to trade with each other. But not only that, maybe there's other people that follow me that that work at other businesses right now, maybe they want to take on some of these quests, right? And then there's, again, you're going to have a leaderboard. You can have an overall World of Business leaderboard, but you can have a leaderboard per business, or you can have a leaderboard per region, and you can just choose. Again, maybe you want— you might want to rehire people to do quests, right? So, and then people can level up in your company. They can have different experience points too. And then maybe based on certain levels, they're able to take on certain quests, or maybe based on a certain level of skills that they've acquired using like your skills.md or like loops that they've built and they have a certain amount of proficiency, then they can go on and they can take on more challenging quests in your business, right? But maybe if they're newer in your company, maybe they have to start from the bottom. And that's not to say that they can't rise up quickly, but when you gamify things and you make them transparent like this, it makes life a lot easier. And then people can see, oh, how much cash do we have on hand right now? What's the ARR? And if you want to blur some of this stuff out, you can blur it out. Pipeline coverage right now, what are you looking at right now? Here's your runway. How much money do you have left for next in this case it's 20 months or so. And then the settlement that you have is you have this town and the next step is you're going to transition into a city, right? The way you look at this is when you're onboarding here, your business is a living town. And so buildings are business functions, right? So banners show their health, fog hides functions with no connected data, and then you can click any building to inspect it. And then you can share this if you want and you can talk about expansion opportunity because you always want to expand, you want to grow. And then maybe you might have a castle in the middle of a city and then it can become something else. Maybe like in, strategy games, maybe you start with a town hall first, then it becomes a keep, and then it becomes a castle, right? It becomes bigger and bigger. And you can upgrade buildings, you can upgrade armor, you can upgrade weapons. You can have different characters in here as well. Different characters based on what they've accomplished, they might have different items that they're wearing as well. It just makes it a lot more fun. And you probably end up creating an ecosystem within this as well. And if people say community's the next big thing, well, being able to establish community here is great. And you can choose, by the way, maybe you're interested in selling your business down the road. Maybe you can list your business inside of World of Business. And I just think there's a lot that you can do here with the power of something like a Fable 5. This is why I believe that Fable 5 has truly made my business into a video game now. And I think this is just the very beginning. Imagine, like, you just look at this, this is the very first look at this. How much better is this going to get? So in my free time, I'm just going to keep working on this and then figure out how I can connect things into my business. But I'm also thinking about, we have our Skills Dojo as an example, right? So the way our Skills Dojo looks is we have these skills over here. So we have this X long-form post writer over here that people can— we're going to make this public and people can take these skills if they want. And you'll be able to see people are going to have public profiles. You can fork these skills, you could download these skills, you can upvote them, you can copy them over here. But the whole idea is that we want to have portable, transferable skills that people can take. And then maybe the people that have the most viable skills that we're interested in, and then they've also been verified, where this would be pulled into World of Business, right? So like, this is one piece of it, you know, the different loops that people might make. There's different company repos that might be out there. There's just a lot you can pull, and you can choose what you, what you prefer to share inside of World of Business. By the way, if you're enjoying this video on creating a World of Business, then you have to check out SingleBrain, because SingleBrain is where we create managed marketing agents that live inside of your Slack or your Microsoft Team to make it more of a game, to make it multiplayer. We found when we make it multiplayer, or when we made it multiplayer, that we're able to move a lot faster and our clients are able to move a lot faster. So you can check it out, SingleBrain with a B, singlebrain.com, and we'll see you on the other side. So again, if you look at the quest over here, this quest board, it's going to continue to grow over time. And you can have repeating quests too for things that you need to have done on a recurring basis. And then again, you can choose to open up your world. You don't even have to open up your entire world. Maybe you just want to open up your sales engine and your marketing engine for the world to see. You don't have to reveal everything. You can just choose what you want to reveal. That's why security is very important. Ultimately, what you're you're doing is you, you have these rewards that you can get. Work becomes playable, so you're creating playable work. And the more connectors you add over time, the more helpful this is going to be. So, you know, we're just talking about Stripe and Mixpanel and analytics right now, but what else can you add here? What else are you using quite a bit? And what other context can you feed into this thing? Are there certain systems and processes that you want to feed into this? And you can decide what other buildings that you want to have, right? And so like, this is all stuff that you've built. For example, in my Marketing Scout Tower, I'm— maybe I'm done just looking at Ahrefs. I'm also looking at Metricool, which is our social media tool that we use to look at the analytics across the To look at where else should we be attacking. And then maybe for the quest, you can have suggestions in there because AI will help you because it has a lot of the context on what it thinks you should attack. And there's, again, there's certain frameworks that you could be using, different skills, different loops that you can be using, and you can add them in here. You know, you'll probably have a leaderboard in here. Okay. And by the way, like, you look at this, it has these payment failure spike detected, 9 renewal charges failed, threshold baseline is this, click to inspect finance base. Okay. This is critical in real time. So if I click on it, here's the finance base over here. And this is just one thing to fix. So I can X out of that. I can X out of this up here. By the way, even if I restart this thing, here's the onboarding piece. Okay, so when new people are joining your company, maybe they need to go into like a training dojo in here or like the skills dojo in here. So then they can learn as much as they can about a certain function. And then when you go into the skills dojo, by the way, you can look at— you can have skill packs for these people based on the role that they're joining. So you can arm them with these things. And then the agent, based on the evals that you have to define what success looks like, the agent can come in, evaluate those people based on the videos that they made, and then just kind of go from there, right? I can just spend time on this and have Fable 5 build this out, and I'm just going to continue on here. So this is very much the future of business. But I just also want to kind of reiterate to you too, this is the power of using powerful models as well, because you can do almost anything that you want now. So hope you enjoyed this video and we'll catch you in the next one.
