Eric Siu shares how his podcast grew downloads by trading impressions with other shows. He traded 500,000 impressions with The Jordan Harbinger Show, a tactic that reportedly boosted his monthly downloads by about 5% on a show with millions of listeners.
One thing we do for our podcast to grow it, we use impression trades. There's a podcast called The Jordan Harbinger Show. They get about 6 million downloads a month. We get about 2 million. So we said, hey Jordan, we'll trade you 500,000 impressions. He will do an ad read. It'll show to 500,000 people. We'll do the same thing. That actually grew our monthly downloads by about 5% or so. And 5% on a couple million is actually not that bad. You can actually broker deals with other people to grow your podcast.
