It contains an informal two-speaker dialogue in which one speaker recounts making roughly $12,000 as a 12-year-old by selling rare in-game items (an in-game helmet) from an MMORPG like World of Warcraft — including an anecdote about selling a helmet for $3,000 to a buyer in Europe and explaining the scarcity and time value of such items. Topic: gaming, virtual item economy, childhood entrepreneurship.

I think I made $12,000 when I was like 12 years old. I was selling in-game helmets.
What the heck is an in-game helmet?
Okay, let's say we go kill a dragon, you know, like with World of Warcraft, you go kill a dragon and it's like a rare dragon, right? It's like you need a really good team to kill these dragons, right? So I was part of the best team. Then I take the product and I go sell it to somebody else. I sold a helmet, not even the character, like a hat that you wear on your character, right? Does that even make a difference to kill a dragon? That hat is like pretty good, right? Like good stats, it boosts your character's strength, whatever, right? I sold it for $3,000 to this guy in Europe.
Stupid helmet, someone paid 3 grand to kill a fictional character.
Yeah, well, you can't kill it unless you're like top. And like when you get recruited to, to like a top team, like, you know, it's high standards and to get that item is very hard. And so they're paying for the time.
