Eric Siu's team was targeted by scammers who obtained their emails and phone numbers, then impersonated him asking for money and gift cards. He warns others about the sophisticated social engineering attack and clarifies he would never make such requests.
Here's the crazy thing. So a scammer was messaging my team yesterday and they've got everyone's phone numbers. They got their emails and their phone numbers. So I don't know. I'm just like, that is pretty sophisticated. We've made a point to everyone, like, I will never ask you for anything. So I'm not going to ask you for like to send me money or gift cards or anything.
