In this clip, we are going to talk about how you can become a 7-figure marketer. But before we do, whatever channel you're coming from, especially if you're coming from YouTube, don't forget to subscribe and hit the bell button if you enjoy clips on marketing and on entrepreneurship. And if you're on another channel, don't forget to subscribe too because it helps us grow and motivates us to continue creating content like this. One of the stories I want to share is, you know, I went through the whole entire progression. I went from unpaid intern all the way to I mean, look, I've gotten offers up to 8 figures a year. Okay. And maybe we'll save 8 figures for another video for another time. Let me know in the comments, by the way, if you want to see a video on how to become an 8-figure marketer. So going from the 6-figure amount to the 7-figure amount, 6 figures, remember you have to bring new ideas to the table. You have to actually execute and hit numbers. Okay. And you have to be autonomous, right? You have to be the people that, uh, the person that people lean on. That's what gets you to the 6-figure amount. The company that ended up taking over, Actually, uh, Single Grain. So we actually dropped all the way down to one employee. And, um, at the time I was thinking about tapping out because, um, my accounting firm called and said, hey, it might be time to shut the company down. And that was, that was the moment. And I actually got an offer. Um, the offer was a good healthy, we're talking like, I think it was $250,000 to $300,000 a year in base salary. And then if you add in the bonuses as well, it was actually going up to 7 figures a year. I've been offered 7 figures in terms of base as well. Um, but what you have to do is this. You have to be good at learning how to delegate. So now it no longer matters how good you are because I used to think, you know, being a 5-figure, a 6-figure marketer, I'm really good at marketing. I like, I'm learning all the time. Like I have a freaking podcast called Marketing School, right? I'm teaching this stuff. I enjoy teaching this stuff, um, because it forces, it holds me accountable to continue to get better and better over time. But that doesn't matter as much. You have to actually take your learning ability now into figuring out how you can become a good leader. Oh, what? But I thought this was about marketing. It is about marketing. A good marketer knows how to learn, and if you want the ultimate marketing skill, it's actually hiring, recruiting, and retaining people. That to me is the ultimate form of marketing. You want to talk about culture, company culture, uh, employee branding, that's all marketing to me. The better you are at, let's say you put yourself out there, right? Like you're creating content all the time. You know, you've kind of got yourself a personal brand. So if you got yourself a personal brand, you should have no issue Um, for the most part, getting some people to rally around you. Um, a good leader knows how to bring people, right, to rally around them for a cause, keep them happy, lead them, and then take them to the next level. So the great companies in the world, what do they have? The 7-figure ones, the 8-figure ones, the 9-figure, even 10-figure ones, right? It's 10-figure. Yeah, 10 figures is possible. What do they have? They have great people. It's not the product, it's not the service, it's the people that get them there. So if you come in as a marketer and you have, let's say, you know, there's people that would walk through walls for you, that's what people want. That's what's worth 7 figures because you can build an entire team. And if someone invests 7 figures into you as an individual, they know they're going to get 5x, 10x, maybe even 20x return on whatever they're doing. And if it's a multi-billion dollar corporation, they have no issues paying you 7 figures. The idea is you're going to make such a big impact. Let's say it's an old organization. You come into it, they're paying you 7 figures, maybe some bonuses on top. Um, they know that you just make a couple of tweaks for this organization and boom, explosion, right? Same thing with a large website. If you come into a large website or large ad spend, you know, you make a couple of tweaks. These are 6 to 7 figure, maybe even 8 figure impact type of things that will happen for the business. So if you can come in and you say, okay, I know what to do in terms of strategy, I know who would walk through walls for me, they would immediately come over to the company. That's worth its weight in gold. Because A, these people, let's say it's a legacy company or maybe even a company that's been struggling with marketing for a while. You come in, you got new ideas, you got the Rolodex of people, you know where to take things. They don't know where to take things. All they know how to do is hold you accountable to numbers. If you have a propensity for hitting numbers as well, if you've been through the motions where you are a really good learner, you're going to continue to bring ideas to the table. Okay? You have a track record of success because you've passed the 5-figure mark, you passed the 6-figure mark. Now you're in the 7-figure territory. And you get paid the big bucks to drive much larger impact. It's no longer about how good you are as a marketer. Sure, that's important, but again, the best ones know how to bring the best marketers in. Here's a, here's an example actually. Yaniv, my friend from, um, one of the co-founders of Nextiva, he's a CMO over there. He has a propensity for looking for the best marketers because the older we get, the less likely we can be the best marketers out there. There's people that are actively practicing the craft every day. He needs to focus on the higher level business issues. Uh, and that's what you're paid to do as a 7-figure marketer. So that, that's from like an, from like a job perspective. All right, now let's say you want to be an entrepreneur. Let's say you want to do your own thing. Well, I know a lot of 7-figure marketers out there that are, let's say they're running, uh, you know, courses. Uh, so here's, here's, here's how the economics work out for you to get to 7 figures a year. You honestly, you just need to hit $83,333. Yeah, that's what you're trying to hit. Every single month you hit that. And if you back that out, let's say you're selling a course for $1,000. Okay, you sell a course for $1,000, you only need to sell 83 of those per month. How do you do that? Well, you can run paid advertising, you can use your affiliate relationships, but you've already leveled up from 5 to 6 figures or so. You got some money saved up. Maybe you put, you know, $5,000, $10,000, $20,000 into ads. Maybe you save some of that money, you put this course together and then you start scaling it. You start getting a return on ad spend where, you know, if you spend Um, you know, you spend a certain amount of money, let's say you spend $20 grand, you'll get $40 grand back. Um, you're playing a numbers game at that point. So you can also do consulting as well. Consulting, you can maybe have, uh, 8 clients paying you, uh, $10,000 a month and boom, all of a sudden you are a 7-figure marketer. So you can take the skills that you have. Um, but in both cases you're actually going to end up doing, um, you know, uh, doing a lot of the work. Whereas if you're an employee at, uh, making 7 figures at a large company, You're gonna have a lot more resources at your disposal. The caveat there is you are probably gonna be a lot involved in a lot more meetings. Um, you're gonna be at the backend call of, you know, somebody else and you know, if that jives with you, great. Right now, entrepreneurial side, sure, you can start your own, um, you know, software business too. You can start all these different types of businesses using the marketing skills that you have. Um, and you can, you know, just using the math there, you can quickly, uh, back out into 7 figures a year. All right, so I want to go a little deeper on this topic, so check this out. Okay. In this video we're going to talk about how you can price based on value and how not to lowball yourself. So here's the first thing. A lot of people, when you're focused on building an agency, people focus on charging by the hour and this is a huge mistake. So you're basically saying, okay, my time's worth this amount per hour and working hourly sucks. It doesn't make sense. You can't really gain leverage that way. And still a lot of agencies do that and they charge, charge a really big amount. But for you in the very beginning, you have to charge based on value. If you generate $1 million in sales, why shouldn't you make a percentage on that? If you generate $1 million and you're paid a couple hundred dollars for that, well, that's okay. The other business just got a lot of leverage over you. So for you, you have to be making sure that you're watching your back all the time and you have to focus on pricing based on value. So here's an example of what you can do. Uh, there's a performance marketing agency that one of my friends works for. And they do $85 million a year in revenue. Now when you charge based on performance, well, it's, it's, it's based more on value instead and it becomes more of a partnership, right? So what we do with our clients, we kind of have a hybrid of that where we charge a percentage of based on performance and sometimes we charge a flat fee as well, but we have kind of the two built in together. That way we can kind of leverage both sides of the equation. But if you go all the way on performance, it's a lot more riskier. Yes, definitely. A lot of people just work based on, hey, if we get you a sale, you're going to pay us this amount of money. And that's a lot riskier for people that are starting out. So if you're starting out and you want to charge based on value in the beginning, you got to figure out a hybrid model that might work for you. That way you can continue to make cash flow so you can put, you can put bread on the table for your family. And then at the same time, later down the road you can collect more of the upside as well. So that's the secret. Basically working hourly sucks. People, I think when I first started doing this stuff, I was charging maybe $10 an hour or $15 an hour, whatever it was exactly. I wasn't really making anything. So you got to keep that in mind. You should charge based on how you're going to perform. And if you think you can really do a good job, then you charge what you think you're worth. So those are just a couple of ways you can get to 7 figures a year. But just keep in mind, again, I went from unpaid intern, you know, and then slowly worked my way up into getting 5 figures a year just because I was focused on kind of learning and improving. Um, and then to get to 6 figures, um, you know, becoming a more well-rounded marketer, like a T-shaped marketer and hitting, having propensity for hitting numbers. Also being able to, um, spot new opportunities too, right? You know, look at, look at, uh, look at new ideas, look at what other people are doing and not having, you know, people hold my hand all the time. Um, that's how you get to 6 figures. And then to get to 7 figures, you have to not only be kind of a generalist in terms of, uh, knowing, you know, knowing enough to be dangerous and then being good at recruiting a team. Or you can go down the course route or you could go down the, you know, kind of, you know, consulting route, but eventually you're still gonna have to learn how to build a team too. So no matter what, if you want to get to the 7-figure level, the 8-figure level, it's all about the people at the end of the day, you know, recruiting the people but also keeping the people. Um, and then also continuing to adjust the culture as well. And then just taking care of people as if they're your family. That's how you're going to get to the next level. It's all about people at the end of the day. That to me is the ultimate marketing hack. Um, people want to ask about hacks all the time. That's how you get there. So 5 figures, 6 figures, 7 figures, that is how you get there. Um, you know, it's, look, that's kind of the high level. These are just the stories that have worked out for, um, kind of what I've seen from the people around me. Um, and I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoyed this series. We might do one on 8 figures.
