It took me 4K podcast recordings to learn this 👀

Eric Siu shares lessons from 4,000 podcast recordings: consistency beats everything, stay focused on one thing, keep learning from guests, and embrace doing over perfection. Setbacks and embarrassment are part of the process.

Here are the key lessons I learned about wealth from over 4,000 podcast recordings. Number 1, you have to keep going. You don't necessarily have to be the best. The most consistent people over— we're not talking 5 years or 10 years, we're talking 20 to 30 years or so— eventually they figure things out and they build something really big. Number 2, you have to stay focused. Of all these entrepreneurs I've spoken to, or all these podcasts I've done with my co-host Neil for Marketing School, what I've learned is that you can talk about how you have 10 different businesses, but to the trained eye, to the trained entrepreneur, you actually look very unfocused. Your focus compounds as long as you're consistent and you're focus over a long period of time, you cannot be defeated. Number 3 is you want to be a learning machine. The reason I've done so many podcast episodes is because I learn. I learn from talking to these people. I learn about maybe 1 or 2 different ways that they're doing things right now with their business, with their life. So you can definitely learn and pick up these patterns. But at a certain point, you also have to focus on relentless doing. When you look at your life, the sum of your life at the very end of your life, it really comes down to the sum of your actions. Which brings me to my 5th point. You have to be okay being embarrassed. There's going to be a lot of times where someone stiffs you on a deal. Maybe an employee does something to you, or maybe someone sues you something. That's okay. That's all part of life. So if you enjoyed business tips like this, just hit follow.
