Two speakers discuss ikigai, the overlap of what you love, what you're good at, and what pays. Aiming for 80% is realistic, not 100%. Starting a business can get you there, though most people haven't even thought about ikigai yet.
Everyone's talking about ikigai now, right? Which is like, how do you find the intersection of like what you're good at, what you love, and like what actually makes a living?
Yeah.
And I think getting to 100% ikigai attainment is really almost impossible. Yeah. So maybe 100% ikigai is not the goal. Maybe the goal is 80% ikigai.
I don't like, okay, maybe you're right on the 80%, but like, 'cause I was so addicted to games growing up, I'm just like, dude, I'm so screwed if I can't find something in life that feels like a game. But it turns out it's actually business 'cause you meet cool people, you get to do cool things and like everything unlocks, right? And you get to bring people along with you. To me, it's like, that is the intersection. Maybe for the vast majority of people, I mean, like, if that's what you really want, then you go through the pain and you start a business, right? What's your response to that?
I agree with you. I like the game and I'm willing to go through the pain, but I think a lot of people, they're not thinking about this ikigai concept yet. When they do, they, they're like, all right, I'm gonna start a business, try to play this game, but it's still not like fully clicking for them yet.
