This is a YouTube video titled "Stay on one business" (created 2024-11-05) containing a short dialogue between two unnamed speakers (SPEAKER A and SPEAKER B) about entrepreneurship. The excerpt offers advice on focusing on a single business for decades to compound growth, committing long-term, and having the courage to strip away non‑profitable or vanity activities to prioritize core profit centers.
All you need to do is stay on one business. You can do a lot of things within that business and not work on it for a year, not 5 years, not even 10 years, but multiple decades. And if you can do that for multiple decades and stay alive, then you will compound into something very big. And it's just, to me, it's inevitable. Like, you don't even need to think about the outcome. It will just happen no matter what.
This past weekend, I spent time with a group of friends, and that was the common theme, is are you willing to have the chutzpah and the dedication to focus on one thing? And having a conversation and having the courage to strip away things because it either made you feel good, look good, but you're like, there is a profit center in the business. And the less time that you spend with this, the more you're hurting yourself.
