Eric Siu shares how founders scale beyond their limits: hire a CEO to step back, double down on one business instead of spreading thin, recruit people who've done the work before, use micromanagement strategically, and jump into broken areas for leverage.

I hired a CEO so I can step back and relax. I stay involved because no one is as invested as the founder is. I'm proud to have 7 different businesses running at once. I double down on just one business and I let it compound. I'll figure it out myself because nobody knows my company better than me. I focus on finding people better than me and smarter than me for every function because that's how you actually scale. I'll just hire cheap talent and teach 'em the ropes. I focus on hiring people who have already done it. 80% of people who have already done it, 20% of people who have the potential. I try not to micromanage so people don't quit. I see micromanagement not as a good thing or a bad thing. I see it as a tool. If the stakes are high and I need to jump in, I will. If the stakes are low, I hop out. If growth stalls, I usually start another project so I can feel better about myself. I jump into big, broken, or new areas where I can add true leverage.
