Eric Siu breaks down how founders can maximize AI spending. OpenAI's $200 monthly plan gives you roughly $14,000 in API usage, while Claude's offers about $8,000. He recommends burning through your token allocation each week before it resets, since subsidies won't last forever.

In terms of cost for running some of these loops, like I have API usage if I need it. I have $200 Codex accounts, like the ChatGPT Max. So $200, $200. I have another $200 for Claude Code. The reason why I like using ChatGPT is because they're so generous with their plans because you basically get for $200, you get $14,000 of usage. That's like what it's mapped out to be in terms of how generous they are. And for $200 with Claude, you basically end up only getting $8,000. I can actually tell the difference. And there was a month where I paid about $14,000 on API usage. They can't subsidize forever, but if you're watching this right now, you guys should just go to town on it and max out your usage every single week. You can even set up like an eval loop to run through all the stuff that you have running every single day and to basically try to do a token burn before your usage refreshes.
