In this brief coaching exchange, Speaker A asks Speaker B about common patterns that prevent people from achieving their dreams. Speaker B identifies a key barrier: a fear of making mistakes, which leads individuals to spend excessive time keeping their options open and over‑thinking decisions rather than taking action.
Because you've helped so many people, what are the typical patterns you see holding people back from achieving their dreams?
I think one of them is they don't wanna make a mistake, so they kind of spend so much time in keeping possibilities open.
Yeah.
Like, but what about this? But what about that? And it's like, dude, just do it. Like, all of us, we test things all the time, and we're like, that was a stinker. Yep, yep. You know what I mean? Like, that didn't work. Yep. And we're willing to spend money and waste it to learn. So, I think the things that hold people back are Not making a decision, not being willing to just test something. I also think people think too big. They're like, I wanna build this gajillion-dollar huge thing, and this is movement, it's gonna change the world, it's gonna change— it's like, dude, don't worry about changing the world right yet. Change one person's life. Starting small doesn't mean thinking small. And so, if you can just get one person, 2 people, 5 people, all of a sudden now we got a little momentum. Mm-hmm. We've got some testimonials. Like, there's a lot of great things that come from starting small.
