The excerpt is a single-speaker monologue (labeled SPEAKER A) delivering a candid, motivational commentary on the hardships of being a CEO — lack of recognition, financial and personal sacrifice, doing the unpleasant work, and the learning and resilience that can result, while noting many people give up.
Nobody's ever going to pat you on the back, right? You're always eating crap. By the way, you're the last one to eat too. If things are going bad at the company, you're funding the company. You're not making any money, right? You're dealing with all the people problems. Anything people don't want to do, you're going to do it. You're making the ultimate sacrifice. Still though, you're going to learn a lot at the end of the day, right? If you can come out of it, you're going to come out of it stronger. But a lot of people tend to give up. That's why a lot of people just aren't cut out for it.
