This AI skill 50x'd my YouTube views

In this video Eric Siu showcases an AI‑driven workflow that functions as a virtual YouTube production team, claiming to have multiplied his average video views by 50× while also generating qualified leads. He walks through the end‑to‑end process using a ChatGPT‑based harness (compatible with any LLM) to automate thumbnail and headline creation, edit the first 30 seconds for maximum hook, select B‑roll, run A/B tests on thumbnails and titles, schedule uploads, and repurpose content for short‑form platforms. He presents concrete performance improvements—click‑through rate rising from ~4% to 6‑8% and 30‑second audience retention climbing from ~50% to 65%—and demonstrates the UI where he can comment on generated assets. Eric also explains how a custom classifier (Jev) flags which clips should be repurposed to X, LinkedIn, or short‑form only. Throughout, he emphasizes the need for human “taste” to guide the AI, discusses token costs (using GPT‑6 Astra, Claude, OpenAI Dots), and promotes hiring full‑time AI‑native marketers at Single Grain. This AI skill gave me a complete YouTube team and 50x'd my average views per video. So if we're looking at my channel right now, Leveling Up with Eric Siu, you can see that this video right here, 18,000. You know, this one over here, 14,000, 11,000, 15,000, 21,000. This is good because I'm not looking for all the views in the world. I'm looking for leads, right? And don't get me wrong, like this channel, we know how to generate views. You can see 730,000 views, 489,000 here, 200,000 on this one, right? But what happens at the end of the day is if you're chasing the views, you're not going to generate leads. This AI skill can generate both the views and the leads at the end of the day, right? So from the packaging to the editing to the posting, all of these things that you need, it can generate for you. And no joke at all. I mean, I'm looking at the numbers just on my long-form videos over here. You can see it's starting to move in the right direction. My click-through rate before was much lower. Let's say it was like 4% before. Now we're getting like 6 to 8% per video. And not only that, you can see the audience retention is pretty good at 65% at 30 seconds. We used to be at probably like 50 to 55% or so. Now it's doing a lot better, 65%, 62%. So we're doing a good job of hooking them in. And you can see these are below when we had purely— when we had no AI assisted, it was 50%, 49%, 49% over here. We were not doing a good job. Even this one was AI generated, but At the end of the day, I'm just showing you that these numbers are being reflected because how powerful— because of how powerful this skill is, right? So from a posting standpoint, from an editing standpoint, from a packaging standpoint, all these things from 30-second retention as well to, to, to, um, even I think we talked about editing, posting, right? We talked about the thumbnail packaging. That is an entire YouTube team that you have, right? And also the 30-second retention. So knowing the right moments, knowing the right B-roll to add in there. And knowing how to test these things, right? So I'm going to show you how I'm doing this in real time with 2 videos that I recorded today and how you can do the same thing as well. So let's get into it. So right now we're inside of ChatGPT. So this is the harness that I'm using and you can use this skill honestly with any harness that you want. And this is a skill that I personally made, right? And so right now I released 2 videos today. So there's 2 raw videos that I recorded to Riverside. And I basically said, okay, this is what I want. This is what I want for the thumbnails first. And basically this is how it looks. And so I basically said, hey, these are the headlines I'm going to use and then these are the thumbnails that I want. Okay? So I'm talking about the top 1% marketers. So I'm going to basically, I'm going to work with this a little bit. And so it might give you the packaging initially, but I'm going to say, you know what? I'm going to dictate. Hey, so if I'm looking at the first, if I'm looking at these thumbnails over here, so the new marketer one, let's change the headline to the new 1% marketer. Let's change it to that. I actually like, I really like that aesthetic. I like how things are glowing. I don't like the build your team so much. And I don't like the run the whole game so much. I think for the run the whole game one, you can have the original channels, but then you can have all the glowing, dots, the little Grokbots and the Muses surrounding me and maybe even surrounding and just make the little original icons for those channels, original channels, make those smaller and put at the very top, the game has changed, but make that headline a little smaller so that we could fit in the little characters more and then we can have them be glowing. Let's go ahead and do that. Yeah, actually, let's just go with that. And then also make sure to cross-reference the titles with each of these. So I want you to go ahead and redo it and go from there. And then let's also begin to run the leveling up content engine to figure out how we want to do the full edit. You can't just let the AI run to its own devices with the skill, right? That taste piece you need to add in, which is what I'm doing right now. I'm telling you, the time you spend on this where You help it tweak the packaging first and then you actually move over to the next step, which is having it help you with the edit. That's the next step. And you just want to make the first 30 seconds really good. So what I'm going to do as these are working right now is I'm going to show you which one's already done, where I have this Cody Schneider one, which this webinar was published. And you can see for this webinar, you can see that we have this packaging over here. And this one didn't do that bad. The webinar itself got 5.6K views, or maybe 6K. And then I did a republish afterwards of a tightened up webinar. So the webinar was like 60 minutes, maybe 70 minutes or so. And then we tightened it to just 35 minutes. So let's just take a look at this and see how it goes. So by the way, the cool thing about the skill, you see this little, this thing on the right side? This is, I said, hey, I want a Framer I want like a framework UI to review this so I can give you comments. So you can see I can give comments in here if I want. I can comment the playhead. This is like a fully functional app within this skill, right? So it's pretty cool. So not bad, right? Am I going to say it's perfect? No, I would say it's like a 7.5 out of 10 with the edit. By the way, we are hiring right now. If you know how to work in this way already, not you want to work, but you know how to work in this way already where you're leveraging the power a lot of these skills to help with creating some such as long-form editing, short-form editing, strategy, and things like that. If you're able to scale a lot more, we are interested in hiring people full-time. We are not interested in agencies. We want full-time people. So whether you are an intern, right? And you know how to work like this already. You understand creating, you understand hooks, you obsess over hooks, you obsess over the offers, you obsess over optimizing, and you obsess over creating these skills and letting the robots do robot work while you do human work, strategic work. Then we want to hire you. Just go to singlegrain.com/careers to learn more, or you can just DM me on Instagram or X, giving me the reasons, showing me examples of how you work in this way already. And you got to figure out ways to kind of stand out from the pack. Otherwise, I might not respond to you, right? So again, singlegrain.com/careers, or you can DM me, and we'll see you on the other side. But for me, I just want to get this stuff out because we're just talking about the coolest stuff right now, and I want to get back to operating my business. And so I just want to get this out, right? But then I realized yesterday, I was like, you know what? I think we can probably have a version where he talks about ranking number one in Google in 38 minutes. That wasn't the main point of the talk, but that was one of the points. I'm like, dude, let's just get that out there for LinkedIn. I'm like, okay, give me a cool thumbnail for that, right? And it did that. And here are the post captions for that too. So not only does this skill going to help you from a YouTube standpoint, it's going to help you with everything else, right? And so like I posted it to short form as well. So we got a short form version of this. Look at this. We got a little thumbnail here. And check this out.
So yeah, it's ranking position 1. This went live 38 minutes ago. So anyways, and I'm literally going to show you how to do this right now. And with it,
you see that? That's a good hook, right? In my mind, that's a good hook. Like, it just found the right moments and put it in there. Good editing, right? Um, and then there's different post captions here. There's a good thumbnail too, because I realized that the thumbnails are really important when you're posting short-form stuff, right? So what it did was it— we worked on the thumbnails first, then Then we got the full edit. Then I asked it to, I said, hey, can you JevGate using Jev, right? That's a little classifier that we use. Can you help me figure out what actually deserves to be repurposed to other channels? And so sometimes it'll say, hey, this should go on to X and LinkedIn. Sometimes it'll say, hey, it should go to neither of those. Sometimes it'll say, hey, this should just be short-form repurposing. So that helps you from a judgment layer, right? So that is, that's how that works. Yeah. And while, look, this is continuing to work right now. Okay. So, oh, by the way, okay, here we go. Here's a new 1% marketer. Am I happy with the thumbnail quality? Maybe not so much. Here's the new 1% over here. So, you know, I think it still needs a little more work. And by the way, keep in mind, these were generated off of 6.1 SOL max. I was using GPT-6 Astra for this one. Okay. So by the way, this one does look a little better. I would say it does look a little better. I think this looks a little weird up here, but like this looks cute. This looks cute. These are this is all right. You know, I don't know about the the the pink up there, but it's it's working on this right now. And then I think it's running the it's working on these other ones. Okay, so the quality does matter. Sometimes it's worth it for you to spend more tokens. Hey, the quality kind of sucks on the thumbnail. So for example. The original, the new 1% marketer, you seem to have made things smaller, and I'm noticing that the quality is small. Like my body and the other logos are smaller, and also the little Grokbot logos—they should just be the actual, like you know, different shapes that Grokbot has, right? It's not just the logos. Just like dots has, you know, different colors and all that. Grokbot actually has different shapes and different colors for those. And so then, and you can also note, like. You know, MetaMuse, and you can note like Dot, OpenAI Dots, and then you can note like GrokBot. But, you know, as I look at your other ones over here, the new 1%, that one doesn't seem to quite make much sense either. But if we look at this one, I'm like, okay, this is not bad, right? And like, my face does look like me. The only way to work. Okay, this is cool. This is awesome. The only way to work now, right? This is really cool. Wow. But we should change the JEV flag to, you know, we should change the flag to, say, 1% founder, right? So But other than that, it's perfect, right? So we're just continuing to do that. And by the way, like, as you see me recording this right now, like, does it take a little longer? Yes. But what you saw with the Cody Schneider one— so we're working on the thumbnails here right now. Then the next step is we're going to get, um, the full edit. And this process is worth it because you're going to drive more views. And what you should do is once you get this process going, you hand it off to somebody else on your team to handle. But this is a really important skill in my mind that I think everyone should have. One more thing. If you're a business and you want us to work in this way where we're managing all this for you and we're building all this for you, and where we have these agents that also live inside of your Slack and Microsoft Teams and they can execute for you, then you got to check out Single Grain. Single Grain with a G, singlegrain.com. That is the agency that helps with marketing implementation and AI implementation with our AI-native team. So check it out and we'll see you on the other side. Okay, so now we are basically having it upload. So it did take some time to render the 2 recordings. So we have this top marketer video and this top founder video. And so what it did over here, so it got the thumbnails, right? I was actually even working with OpenAI's DOTS in here as well. And so I'm working on getting this scheduled over to YouTube. So these are the thumbnails over here that we have, right? So we have these thumbnails that we can review. You know, we can make them a little higher quality, but right now I just I'm good with just kind of getting them getting them out, and then we can make adjustments to them. Right? So this is what we have pulled up. You can see that this is the title over here appears is How the Top One Percent of Marketers Use AI Agents Today, and it's it's working through the uploading right now. So it's using computer use on YouTube Studio, and it's going to have the ABC tests. It's going to make sure that it's scheduled for tomorrow at seven a.m. Pacific. And so I basically just have it do that. And so I just say, hey. You know, you can either again log in through your Chrome. Your Chrome has your it's already logged into your your Google presumably presumably on the the the relevant YouTube account, or you can just have it happen on the the ChatGPT browser. Either or is fine there, but their computers is really good. And so what happens afterwards is like this this is scheduled. And so I'm I'm working through it on this other one over here, and it's kind of running into some issues. So I'm using just GPT six point. one saw, and it seems to be running into some issues on this one, but you can see I'm actually doing it at the same time. In addition to that, I'm also even looking for short-form cuts using my short-form skill. And so the whole idea here is that it will— I'm basically doing the long-form packaging with different ABC testing for the thumbnail and the headline, and then I'm scheduling it to post. And then after that, I want to find other moments from what I'm talking about to cut into short form because for short form, like I just released another video yesterday. Now it's at about 50,000 views on Instagram. Those are the types of moments that you might have in a conversation or maybe a long-form video that might be a good fit for like a 30 to 60-second clip. And for you watching this right now, just think about if your main focus is business. And for me, I'm more of a— I'm a business operator first. I'm a creator second. So you can call me a Almost like a creator or almost like an operator creator, I would say. So I'm trying to maximize the most from the time that I'm spending here, right? And that's what you're trying to do. And then what happens is you constantly iterate, iterate, iterate, and then eventually you share the skill with other people on your team. So this, I'm just going to let this continue to work right now. Sometimes it'll hang for a little bit. And so that's completely fine with me because I'm just going to be doing other stuff, right? And so you can see that in my ChatGPT, I am basically Continue to work through. I have some other stuff I'm working through. So these 2 videos over here, we're cutting up short form over here as well. And then I'm actually working on this passive harness that will continue to improve things over time in terms of being able to continually move the ball forward and advance work. And that's a whole nother video that I'm going to make, right? And then also taking an idea that I have and drafting it over to X. And so you're just able to do a lot with this harness. I'm not saying you can't do it with other harnesses, But I tend to find that being able to switch with the nice models that OpenAI has is good. And by the way, I pay for OpenAI, I pay for Claude, I pay for all the other things. So I just think this is really good. So that being said, that is how this system works. That is how I've been able to draft more content for my channel. So yeah, this is the TLDR. I mean, basically, this has allowed me to produce more content without interrupting my day-to-day where I'm focused on operating my business, where I'm I'm focused on recruiting, right? And I'm focused on recruiting, the vision, and making sure that we continue to drive revenue ultimately, right? And so, this is only going to get better over time. And I think for me, as an operator of the business and someone who's creating the content, I can get to what I want it to be very quickly. And it's only because we have these skills. So anyway, you can get access to the skills using— just go to skillsdojo.com. Or I think if you just go to singlegrain.com/skills, that might work as well. Yeah.
