This AI Will Predict Your Future Success

Eric Siu and Neil Patel test ChatGPT prompts designed to predict personal success, revenues, and career trajectories. The AI outputs feel either generic or oddly accurate, raising questions about whether the predictions actually mean anything or just reflect what the algorithm learned from training data.

So let's talk about how this AI will predict your future success. So I was telling Neil about it, he's like, no, no, no.
I think it's a bunch of bullshit, but let's go for it.
Really starting with bad language on this podcast. Okay, okay.
It's so inaccurate. I don't even know what the results were, but I'm gonna say it's inaccurate.
There's no way. So here's the interesting thing. I'm not gonna name any names right now. I'm just gonna keep things anonymous to start.
Why keep it anonymous? Just give the results for you and I.
That's fair. No, because we're talking like revenues and net worth and all that type of stuff.
There's no way ChatGPT knows my real revenue or my net worth.
Go for it.
Yeah, actually just say it.
I can't. No, I'm not going to say it.
You can say mine.
No, I'm not going to say it.
No, I already know there's no way it knows because we don't publish all our numbers.
It says— okay, this part's accurate. Okay, so here's what it says about you. Okay, so it says Neil is— okay, you're obviously well published online. What do you want to say?
No, just say the numbers and everything. I'm saying it right now. Let's get to it.
Let's warm up. Okay, so it says that Neil does— Neil's company does hundreds of millions a year in revenue, right? Around $100, $200 or something like that. That's what it says. Okay. So pretty good, right?
And it's taking what I'm saying on podcasts.
I don't know if you're saying that. And so I said, okay, so what's stopping Neil from getting to like a billion? And then how does Neil stack up against this entrepreneur and this entrepreneur over here, right? I said, okay, now look at Eric. What's holding him back, right? It's like Eric's got the know-how, he knows what to do strategically. The problem with him in the past was he was too unfocused. And then I was like, okay, so what's the problem now? He's like, the problem is even though Eric's way better at focus now, he still needs to focus more. And like, I tested it. I was like, tell me what Eric's working on right now. Okay. And it was like, Eric's working on the LinkedIn ABM tool, Eric's working on Single Grain, Eric's working on Marketing School, and Eric's working on Leveling Up. That's it. And I'm like, that is it right now. There's no like all this other stuff, right? And then I had to do— this is for one of my friends that you know. And so, he doesn't have a lot of information published about him. Let's just say he was in video space, right? You know who I'm talking about.
Doesn't matter.
Continue. Okay. So, so he's been working at this company for a very long time, past 10 years. And I was like, I've been telling him to quit that job for a very long time. I was like, what do you think stopping this company right now? It's like, they're not innovating. They're not new. You know, their, their CEO has kind of been out of the picture. There's like no vision for it, which is exactly what I've been saying the last 10 years, right? I was like, okay, now ask it this question. Say, what's the brutal truth? What is stopping me, my friend, from making $1 million a year? It's like, You're too— you're too—
$1 million?
Yeah, a million. I just went extreme. I said making $1 million a year.
A million?
$1 million a year. Yeah.
You already do more than $1 million in revenue.
I'm saying for my friend.
Oh, okay.
Yeah. Okay. So for my friend, um, it was like, oh, one, he's working for the wrong— he's betting on the wrong horse. He's betting all his chips on the wrong company. Like, he could, he could, he could be the number— like, he has vision for this thing, but it's not him right now. He also has this other thing that he works on the side. He's too unfocused. He needs to bet all in on himself. To make $1 million a year, right? And the thing is, he has no published content online. There's nothing. So how does he even know all this stuff, right? So I'm just saying, this stuff's getting closer and closer.
It has to be from published content. It cannot make this stuff up. It's taking everything that it's learned from the web and people talking about an organization or a company or individual.
Perhaps, but he doesn't really post to social. All he posts are like his exercise videos or whatever. Like, that's it.
Yeah, but some of it is generic too.
Yeah, it is generic, but this is pretty decent for what it is. You have to admit that. Come on. You thought it was more BS when it—
before I told you. No, I still think it is. How do they say—
Hey Brad, do you think this is BS? I think it's too generic. That's always my problem.
Yeah. It's not specific.
You're generic.
So Brad and I are on the same page here.
Okay, fine.
But when you asked ChatGPT, what does Neil need to do to get to a billion? What did it tell you?
I'll tell you what it said for our other mutual friend, okay?
Well, why not just tell me what it said?
'Cause I got bored when it kept saying about, 'cause these things I already know about you. So I actually researched more with my other friend and I messaged him in the morning. So we started going back and forth 5 times. 30, right? This is our mutual friend. You know, they raised money, a good— like, we talked about him. They raised like a couple hundred million bucks last couple years. And they do a couple hundred million in ARR right now. LinkedIn ads are great. But let me give you the bad news first. The bad news is that you can't personalize the ads and you can't scale out the ads as quickly. The good news is if you're in the B2B space, you're doing account-based marketing, we have a solution for you called Karrot. That's K-A-R-R-O-T. And the good news is that you can create a lot of these campaigns with With the click of a button, you can personalize the ads, and there's a whole host of new things that are coming. If you want to get on the waitlist, just go to carrot.ai. Again, it's carrot.ai, and we'll see you on the other side. So here's what I said about our mutual friend. Are you ready?
Yes.
So, and he— so we talked about this some more. I was like, hey, how true do you think this is? So basically it's like this company that's doing a couple hundred million dollars a year, the thing that's preventing them from getting to a billion, one, it's super competitive. Two, the space is becoming— it's going to be very commoditized by AI. And then three, there's no differentiator. Like their other players are so much well more capitalized. And they're just so much bigger at this point. They need to find something to really differentiate themselves. And one big thing it said, I said, what does our friend need to do as one of the executives? What is he doing that's holding the company back? And it said this, it said, the thing that holds this company back, because he's a world-class person at lead generation, it's no longer just a lead generation game. And so I sent this all to him, right? I was like, what do you think about all this? He's like, yeah, everything it says is true. I'm like, but like, seriously, how true is it, right? He's like, I'd say like 90% of it is true. It's weird because You asked it a question. I got a way more— I tried it in a different prompt and I got something generic like yours here. This one's like, for whatever reason, this one's way more intense. Like this one chat I'm doing with it right now that has you in it, that has our mutual friend in it, that has my other friend in it, that has me in it. All right, guys, that is it for today.
