Eric Siu breaks down China's new 24/7 robot-operated dark factory making Xiaomi phones. Fully automated production runs around the clock with no human workers, cutting costs dramatically and showing where manufacturing is headed.
Did you see that China launched 24/7 robot factory with zero live workers? Yes, I saw that. So China has unveiled a 24/7 robot-operated factory to produce Xiaomi phones, dubbed a dark factory, quote unquote, by the brand's head. This facility will operate without live workers, revolutionizing phone manufacturing. Not just phone manufacturing, in my opinion, all manufacturing. So what are businesses incentivized to do? Keep costs down. What is this gonna do? This is gonna bring costs down, right? So we can keep saying, oh, you know, this stuff is bad, whatever. It's like, doesn't matter. The business is gonna do what the business is gonna do.
