Claude's revenue has grown parabolic in the last year and a half through aggressive launches and broad adoption across consumer and enterprise. But growth means nothing if the product is poor, the speaker warns, using the phrase polishing a turd to emphasize that quality must match momentum.
If you look at the revenue chart for Claude from the last 2 years or so, it's like going, going, going, going, and it goes parabolic, right? Really, I would say the last year, year and a half or so, Claude really started to take off, and they're launching all these products like crazy. When your marketing is so good and your product is so good, and it's consumer and business, and you're touching enterprise, yes, of course you're going to grow really quickly. But if the product sucked, it doesn't matter if you had the best growth in the world. Still, you're polishing a turd. It's a golden turd, but it's a turd.
