Eric Siu explains how Web3 shifts data control to users, letting them see who accesses their information, choose what to share, and get paid for it. This changes everything about how companies target and message people.

The biggest thing that I think Web3 will affect marketing is people are very sensitive with their data, and by all means, they have all rights to be. With Web3, I think this can potentially change how your own data is controlled and even potentially give you, the end user, options to see who gets your data, who doesn't, and if you get paid for sharing your data. This puts you in the driver's seat, and I believe this is what's going to drastically affect marketing over the up-and-coming years because it's going to change how companies have to target you, what they can or can't do, what messaging they can end up showing you, and it also gives you more money-making opportunities as well without really having to work much at all.
