Taping your mouth shut while sleeping adds about 30 minutes of REM sleep and keeps your mouth from drying out. It also reduces nighttime bathroom trips by limiting airflow and promoting longer, more relaxed sleep.

The first thing that you can do to sleep better seems counterintuitive, but it's actually to put a piece of tape over your mouth. By doing that, I get about 30 more minutes of REM sleep. The other thing that's good about it is that I used to wake up to use the restroom, and I'd have to drink water too because my mouth would get dry. But when you close your mouth off, your mouth doesn't keep sucking in air. It doesn't start getting dry. And so the more time I'm staying in bed sleeping, the more I'm staying relaxed, the better.
