Apple dominates because its hardware is easier to use and its ecosystem locks people in, unlike Tesla's clunky interfaces. The Model 3's center screen shows how poor usability can undermine even a strong brand.

Apple, I think from a hardware perspective, I don't think Apple's gonna win the software race. If you ever looked at Apple software, it's never been revolutionary. Be like, oh my God, this is the best software. The ecosystem lock-in is amazing. And what Apple does extremely well that's better than most people and better than Tesla, their hardware is more usable. I had a Tesla car for like a month. The screen was in the middle. It's like you're driving and your speed is in the middle right. And I'm trying to look at the road. I'm like, why do I have to look at the right to see my speed of the car? 'Cause the monitor is in the middle. For a Model 3, that is It's not the most usable thing, and there's a lot of other usability issues with Teslas.
