Eric Siu argues that buying American products protects domestic jobs and keeps manufacturing at home. He references Howard Lutnick and Trump's approach, pointing to Detroit workers as an example of why an America First strategy matters for the economy.
They're trying to get Americans to buy more American products. I think when you look at Howard Lutnick or Trump, their whole thing is, sure, you can build cars cheaper in Japan or China or something like that, but that actually affects the workers in Detroit. If we put it from like America First example, they're trying to go US first because they're trying to keep more jobs here. That way we can focus on us instead of trying to, you know, police the world. And I feel like that's hopefully going to be helpful to us for the long term.
