Eric Siu argues that grinding without a plan is actually the lazy approach. Real laziness means being strategic about what you work on and who you work with, rather than just doing more hours of low-impact tasks.

why I would almost be in praise of laziness sometimes. Some of the, air quotes, lazy people I know, and I'm not talking about someone who just like veges out on the couch, but I'm talking about the sorts of people who are a little bit slower to get after it. They're very clever, they're very strategic, and they're good at looking at the world and thinking through what is the highest and best use of my time? Often hard work is the lazy thing because you haven't done the harder work of thinking through what is my philosophy of life, thinking through what is it that I wanna work on, and thinking through how do I work with the right people on those things?
