Eric Siu argues impostor syndrome signals you're pushing past what you already know. It means you're in territory that requires growth, not that you're a fraud. The feeling shows you're taking on challenges bigger than your current skill set.

the imposter syndrome piece is a good thing. What are your thoughts on it? I think imposter syndrome is a signal that you're pushing yourself to grow. When you feel imposter syndrome, you're inherently like pushing yourself beyond the boundaries of what you believe your current capability stack is. And I view that as a good thing. That's like, okay, now I'm pushing myself beyond that boundary where I feel uncomfortable and I need to figure out the thing that I need to get better at, the thing I need to learn so that I don't feel like an imposter doing this anymore. So I've always reframed that as a positive and it's been a helpful reframe for me.
