Most online communities fail because they're built around a leader instead of peer-to-peer connection. Small trusted groups of about 10 people, like YPO and EO forums, work because high performers can share confidentially with equals.
One of the reasons why people fail in terms of building internet communities or memberships, they make it all about the leader and not enough about like the peer-to-peer. You're in YPO, aren't you? Tell me about that community experience.
It's interesting. The main thing you value in EO or YPO is like your forum, 10 people that are your brothers and sisters, the 5% of things that you can't share with your spouse or your friends, you share it with this group. It goes really deep, a lot of experience sharing. I believe a huge amount of the value from YPO and EO is actually just the forum. It's to get high performers together. Like that's the community.
