Marketing is not gonna solve your startup problems. This is by far one of the biggest mistakes that I see that crushes companies before they even get going. Number one, the problem is people are trying to put fuel on the fire when there is no fire. Why aren't you talking to your customers? Why aren't you doing customer development? Why aren't you doing research? I highly recommend a book called The Mom Test, but actually going out there, talking to customers, understanding what their problems are, understanding who your ideal customer profile is, and then selling to these people, and then understanding your metrics before you even try to put fuel on the fire. Because if you don't know your numbers, what's gonna happen is you're gonna spend, spend, spend, spend, spend, and these ad platforms are going to take it. And what's gonna happen is you are going to be so far more into the negative because you just lost your shirt because you weren't willing to do the upfront work, and you thought advertising, you thought marketing was going to save you. And now you realize, well, you are going back to the drawing board.
