Eric Siu argues leaders can't outsource AI strategy to others. You need to personally learn the tools, run regular trainings, and create conditions for adoption. The difference between companies that win and those that lag comes down to whether leadership actually owns it.

In this room, you have to be the chief AI officer. I don't believe that this is something that you can just hand off. Oh yeah, I have someone on my team handle it. Yeah, I have an AI person. Yeah, that doesn't work. Anybody I've seen try to do that, you can tell there's a different dynamic when they're talking to other leaders, other founders. I think I have 2 cultures, and I say this very openly. One culture, you have the AI pill people that are flying really quickly, and then the other culture, not so much. They're struggling to pick this stuff up. I think our job as leaders or people that are working at companies right now, it's our job to create the conditions for success. Can you teach them how this stuff works? Can you set up these trainings every single week for people to get better? Everybody here, you have to take this on yourself, and I don't think it's that bad at the end of the day. It's just like learning how to use the internet, how to use email. Maybe a little more work than that, but not that bad.
