“You can’t be a billionaire without taking advantage of others” 🤔

Eric Siu argues that billionaires don't necessarily exploit others, pointing to wealth creation as non-zero-sum. He uses Jensen Huang and Nvidia as an example of how company growth creates jobs and expands markets rather than taking from others.

You can't be a billionaire without taking advantage of others. That's just wrong. Let's explore this for a moment. When you think about a company, the better the company does, the more people that they need to hire. The people that they hire, these are people who have agreed to work for a set wage, and that company chugs along. And as the company does better and better over time, they're going to need to hire more resources, whether it's more talent, maybe they're going to need to invest in technology and things like that. At a certain point, if the company becomes successful, then maybe the founder becomes a millionaire. And eventually, if the company becomes more and more successful, they might end up becoming billionaires. Some of you might be thinking, why should billionaires exist? Well, I would challenge you and say that wealth is not a fixed pie. Let's say tomorrow I decide to start a tire repair business. Well, I've started out from scratch and then someone bought from me. I am now expanding the market, right? I'm not necessarily stealing from somebody else. That's not what I'm doing. And so the argument that billionaires are stealing from other people, that they're enslaving other people, that's not true because people are working for them on their own free will. If you look at the CEO of Nvidia, it's a $5 trillion market cap company, Jensen Huang. He came to America with nothing. The reason he's a billionaire, he's created so billionaires with his company Nvidia is because he stuck with that company for such a long time. So what you don't see behind the scenes is all the struggle that these entrepreneurs have had to go through. And that's not saying other people don't struggle, but the amount of pain it takes to get to that level. I'm just saying that you can do that on your own. You can take that pain and then you can create outside success for yourself instead of thinking about how these billionaires are taking advantage of other people.
