Eric Siu argues subscribers don't drive views as much as overdelivering on each video so people come back. What matters is the click-to-watch-to-return cycle. Thumbnails and headlines are secondary to actually keeping people watching.

You don't have to know the algorithm. You don't have to nail the thumb. You don't have to nail the headline. Subscribers mean nothing. The only thing that matters is if you overdeliver like crazy on one video, the next time you post a video, that person will click it. If people start watching it and they're like, this is so good, they will share it, they will keep watching it, and they will come back and watch the next time. They don't even look at the thumb. They don't look at the headline. They're just like, oh, Alex or Eric made another video. It must be good because all the other videos are good. Click, retain, reward. And it doesn't matter what the platform is. They're all the same. It's like, did you get them to click? Did you get them to watch? And did you get them to come back?
