(published May 15, 2021). The content is a first-person talk by Erica Hoke, an infertility mentor, addressing women in her infertility community about dietary supplements for fertility. She explains that supplements (prenatals/multivitamins) often take ~90 days to show effects, warns about supplement quality and the importance of choosing formulations appropriate to genetics (mentions having MTHFR markers), and promotes an upcoming course called "Decoding Supplements" that teaches label reading and fertility-specific supplement guidance. She also encourages lifestyle optimization alongside fertility treatments (IVF/IUI), mentions her Flourishing Through Infertility community, and includes calls to action to join the course/community and subscribe to her channel.

Hey, hey, good afternoon, you guys. I hear all the time from women in my infertility circle that they are, um, they just want someone to tell them what the right kind of supplements to take to help maximize their fertility, right? So, um, whether you are going through IVF or whether you are just trying to maximize and optimize your health for infertility, there are definitely, definitely supplements that have tons of medical research, um, done on them that help improve your egg quality, um, help your partner improve, um, sperm motility and help your overall health and wellness, right? So if you don't know me, I am Erica Hoke. I'm an infertility mentor. I have my own infertility journey and now I'm super passionate about changing the narrative around, um, the infertility journey and helping women to realize that they have so much control over their outcomes by optimizing their health. So let's talk about supplements for just a minute. Um, what I see is that people get really, really frustrated very quickly with supplements. So supplements, if you haven't been taking them, uh, whether it's a prenatal, a multivitamin, something marketed towards infertility, market, um, take on average 90 days to— for you to see a desired outcome or a change in your health, right? So 90 days, 3 months. So what I see is people trying it for a month, maybe 2, and they kind of give up a little bit too early. So if you're looking for changes, whether you're looking for infertility changes or if you're just looking to maximize your health, Please give it enough time. Let your body process, um, process the supplements, um, how to, you know, get them into your body at a cellular level. Here's the other thing that I hear tons from people is that I'm spending a lot of money on supplements, but I don't know if they are good quality supplements. That is a legit thing, you guys. So not only do you need to pick a good quality supplement for your— a good quality supplement, you need to pick something that is specifically good for you. I myself have all 4 genetic markers for MTHFR. No, that's not a curse word. MTHFR is a methylation problem, and, and it can cause problems for you if you're using a synthetic vitamin. Well, how do you tell if you are utilizing a synthetic vitamin? I have pushed the easy button for you guys. I've done a ton of research both throughout my life and recently put together a course that I'm just wrapping up called Decoding Supplements. It's going to teach you everything that I have learned and cut that time down and save you money on supplements that really should just go in your garbage. Let's be honest. So I am pushing that easy button for you. That is going to be available to you next week. And I will drop the link in the comments here so that you can find that. But it's going to walk you through label reading, supplements for fertility, both for men and women, and all kinds of things, breaking down each supplement, what it does in your body, and, and just how to help yourself pick the right supplements feel confident about the right supplements and move forward in on your infertility journey. So the whole title of this video, let's get back to that, is It's Not Working, right? So if you're not maximizing your health, if you are not optimizing your health, utilizing every resource available to you, and you are just going through, let's say, standard operating procedures in the infertility world, Um, you know, you're going to the doctor, you're still like living your life. Um, your body is telling you, cause infertility is a symptom, right? They call it unexplained, but it's unexplained because they don't know why your body is reacting that way. Um, so if you're not making any changes and you're just going to a reproductive endocrinologist, um, and asking them to do IVF or you're going through the IUI process, and spending a lot of money and not making any lifestyle changes, you guys, you really could be wasting so much money because while IVF is a wonderful thing, why, uh, you, I, they all have their place. Honestly, like, we're going to talk to a nurse practitioner next week on my channel, um, about her experience. And I talked to another young lady, last week about her experience and she's a sonographer. She's an ultrasound sonographer. And both of them said, um, based on their professional experience that they knew in their hearts that some of those transfers shouldn't have been made, that they shouldn't have spent the money, um, and that sort of thing. So, um, you know, if you're not part of my group Flourishing Through Infertility, we talk a lot about advocacy and how to get the best outcome for your treatments. So remember, Decoding Supplements coming next week. And if you want to be part of that community that is advocating for, um, advocating for being proactively healthy and, uh, getting the best possible outcome, the best, best, um, possible outcome for your money and your investment, um, and of course you want to hold that beautiful baby in your arms, then join us over at Flourishing Through infertility. If you're watching on YouTube, go ahead and hit that like and subscribe, and, um, only if you like the stuff, only if you like the content, because I've got more coming for you. Um, and I will see you next time. Health and blessings to you guys. Bye-bye.
