Hi everybody, happy Monday. Thanks for joining me here. I'm Erica Hoke. I'm an infertility mentor and empowerment coach. And today we're talking about toxins. And the reason that I wanted to bring you this topic today is because it's the holidays. And lots of times people will get, uh, either ask for gifts that are kind of filled with toxins or they will give gifts that are full of toxins. And so we want to we want to think about these things and we want to talk about these things for our infertility journey. So, excuse me, um, if you don't, um, if you're not familiar with me and you're watching on YouTube and you like the content that I bring you today, go ahead and hit that like and subscribe button. I'm here live Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon. And if you're watching on Facebook and would like to get notified when I go live, go ahead and head over to YouTube and and hit that like and subscribe. So we're talking about the top 3 toxins to eliminate and why we're even having the conversation in regards to infertility. Like, how do the toxins really— how much do the toxins really affect your fertility? Well, I will tell you that the average woman puts around 300 independent chemicals on her skin every day, that babies are born in the hospital with about 250 chemicals, independent chemicals in their cord blood. I have a helper with me today and he wants to show me his picture. That's so nice, buddy. Okay, here, sit down and finish. Okay. So we have a lot of toxic load in our body and that can definitely affect your endocrine system, which is your thyroid, and your reproductive system. So the toxins in the form of chemicals in our body washes, our makeup, our hair care products, even our laundry products can create hormone and endocrine disruptor. So if you're sensitive for whatever reason, maybe you have an MTHFR mutation or something like that, you have to sit in your chair, remember? Maybe you have an MTHFR mutation or something along those lines that make you more sensitive and more susceptible to these things. So what are easy ways for you to eliminate and start eliminating, eliminating toxins so that your body can do what it's supposed to do? So one of the biggest things that I recommend people start with, and I want to preface this by saying, if you love your laundry products, if you love your fabric softener and your dryer sheets and your detergent, don't start there. You know, start someplace where it's easy. Start with a shampoo or a body wash or something like that that you can tolerate a little bit easier and that you're not going to have a freak out about. So, excuse me. So the reason that we start with our laundry products is that We are on our sheets or in our clothes 23.5 hours a day. So we want to, you know, things that are touching our skin all the time, our clothes and our sheets, we want them not to be off-gassing chemicals. So you've seen these commercials with, you know, however many months of freshness for your sheets or, you know, declaring that they are gonna keep your, keep the scent longer on your clothes and on your sheets and that sort of thing. And so what that does is it's a chemical breakdown. By the way, if you wanna write this down, you can go to ewg.org and just verify what I'm saying and do your own research. But 83% of all laundry products get a D or an F rating by ewg.org. So these are coated, when you use fabric softener, it coats your clothes in basically a slime that's from quaternions. I'm gonna try to stay out of the science-y stuff, but I really feel passionate about this. So at any rate, you want to try to, if it's not a big deal to you, at least switch out your laundry product, eliminate fabric softener altogether, and Substitute dryer sheets for dryer balls. It's gonna make a big difference, you guys. They're really bad chemicals. I can't really stress to you enough. They're asthma-gens also. I see people that are beyond their fertility years that are having hot flashes that are being contributed to by their laundry products. So that's number one. So check out ewg.org. So the second one is anything else that touches your skin. So your body wash, your lotions. Everybody is a little bit different, but you can also go to an app called Think Dirty. It's Think Dirty, Shop Clean. So you can get a rating. It's a red, green, or red, yellow, green rating on a scale from 10, all the way down to 0, and it will tell you how toxic your products are. So some of the common gifting products that we get at this time of the year, like the Bath Body Works or The Body Shop, any of those are gonna be full of those chemicals that are hormone and endocrine disruptors that are really causing, wrecking havoc on your reproductive system. So anything else that touches your skin. So I also recommend while you're swapping those things out, while you're— okay, remember, color your sheet, okay? While you're swapping those things out to go ahead and add in a probiotic. That's just a little bit added bonus because not only are these hormone and endocrine disruptors, but they also contribute to gut health. And we've talked a lot on here I've got other videos talking about gut health and reproductive. So you can go through the whole list. For the third one, you could swap out whatever are your top 3 easiest, basically, is what I would do. And I would look at what you have for your array of cosmetics and beauty products on your counter and just think to yourself, okay, what is touching my skin the most? Some of us use foundation and some of us don't. Your moisturizers, your body washes, even shampoo, because as we know, as we rinse that shampoo out of our hair and that conditioner out of our hair, it's touching a lot of our skin. So those are where I would start, um, for you. Hey, and also, if you want to get like the full deal, um, all the information, I have a free guide in my, um, Infertility Success Community chat where you can just go in there. Um, I think it's a 7-day guide and you can walk through the process and learn about the chemicals, what to look for. Another big one right now is hand sanitizer and also hand soap. So this time of the year, we're washing our hands and sanitizing our hands a lot, and the triclosan and fragrance in those are really toxic. So I hope to see you over in Infertility Success, and happy shopping, and let's shop clean and give clean this year, and Um, thanks for my Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for my little helper this morning. Health and blessings to you guys. Bye-bye.
