Jeff Harrison explores AI cloning technology and how it could transform digital marketing, mentorship, and personal knowledge management. He walks through practical applications for businesses and individuals looking to scale their expertise without burning out.
Welcome to another episode of the Local Voice, hosted by Jeff Harrison, a practitioner in the world of digital marketing. Get ready to take some notes. Let's begin.
I literally feel like I could talk about, hey, what's new in AI every week? Because that's how fast it's changing. In fact, I could probably do almost every day. But today I want to focus on one specific thing because if not, I'll get sucked into a rabbit hole. We'll talk about a lot of things, but I just want to talk about one specific thing. Thanks for joining me on the Local Voice. My name is Jeff Harris. I own a company called Swing Point Media. We are digital marketing agency. We help service local customers. A lot of different industries, but mostly local customers. And today I want to talk about something that I started getting involved with about 45 days ago. And I think we've all, at this point in our lives, we've heard about chatbots and chatbots, they serve a purpose, but they do have a limited capability. Yes, I know they're changing and they're also evolving. But I want to talk about something that maybe you're not aware of and let's call that cloning. In fact, that's what is called cloning. And in the world of AI, you know, we. We clone and make an avatar of someone and then we can put a script in a. In. In that avatar and it will read it off. We can make clones of our voices. But this is something quite unique. It's called cloning. And it basically is this. If I could take all my knowledge about a particular topic and I could put it into my own large language model, it's called an LLM. And then anyone who interacted with it could ask me any questions based on that particular book of knowledge and it could have a conversation. Now, not only could I have a conversation in a text, but it's also an audio. And soon to be, I'll be able to have my own video avatar that whenever you interact with my clone, it will be me and my voice with all my, you know, nuances and, you know, voices, you know, my whatever it is, it'll all be there. Now, how does this work? Well, this is what I did. I found a company and I said, listen, we want to do this. And So I took 14 years. That's how long I've been doing digital marketing. And I took all that information on my podcast, on my videos, on my blog posts, social media posts, any PDFs I made, any place I spoke and recorded it to groups, and I uploaded it into this, into this own LLM. And the reason I say it's my own is because typically what happens, like something with chat GP or Gemini or Claude, whatever, it uses the web, everything on the web as its, as its source of information. And that's why sometimes when you ask one of these other models a question, you can get conflicting answers or you can get what's called a hallucination. Well, here's the unique thing about this. With a clone, I'm putting all my information in there. Only the information that I made, only the information I'm providing it. So what does that mean? Now when my clone is asked a question, it will go into that database of knowledge. It will only respond based on what it's been taught. Excuse me, it won't go out on the Internet and try to find other references. It will only use what I put on there. Now here's the other cool thing. When this happens, the chances of hallucinating are almost zero. The other part about this is every time, let's say, for instance, if you ask me something, let's just make something up, something about email marketing, how to get started with email marketing. And you could say, I'm this type of company and this is how many names I have. How do I get started? Well, if I told you things and it was a text, then what would happen is within the answer there would be references of what I used to give that answer. So what I mean by that, if I'm talking about a particular, you know, six step process to set up a, an email system successfully to generate, you know, new leads and improve customer service, then when I give that answer, it will show a reference that you can then click on and go to that reference to see the proof and see that, hey, this really is something that Jeff created. Now while this is all real cool, let me tell you what else is going on within that process. I have a dear friend, he's a mentor and we've known each other for over 20 years and I've learned a tremendous amount from him. He's 84 years old and I ask him, can I interview you and take those interviews and create a mentor clone so that now with all his knowledge and what he does, and he's been extremely successful, but he's a very nice man and smart. And now when I ask questions, it's like I'm still talking to him now why did I do that? Well, to me it feels like I can now take him and he will be with me indefinitely. Not only that, but the purpose of this was is to say, what about his grandchildren, what about his grandchildren's children who only heard stories about this man? Well now as long as that is is being paid for, then they will have access to it and he will live in perpetuity. Now roll this out and I'm thinking, well, how could we use this? Well, you could actually have, you know, someone especially, especially in the content marketing age where so many things are online. But if you didn't, then you could create a series of questions and interviews. And this is probably taking, with the gentleman I'm talking about, it's probably five to seven hours worth of interviewing. And you could take all that and dump it into the knowledge base. It will put it in the right order and so you don't have to put it in chronological order, you just put it in there, you dump it in there and it will figure it all out. Then what if anytime you went to, let's say they passed away and you went to their, wherever they were buried and on their headstone there's a QR code and you scan that QR code and you can have a conversation with that person. Wouldn't that be wild? And what if before they passed they had an avatar, video avatar made of them? Now when you have that conversation with them, you're having a conversation with them. It has their nuances, it has their quirks, it has their humor, whatever it is, their tonality, their pace, it's all there. So I think there's more to this than just, oh, there's a business aspect of this whole cloning thing. Because I've got another wild idea that I think that is going to change the way we shop in big box stores. But that's for another episode. But I want you to think about this Cloning. What if we took all your knowledge on a specific topic and we put it in one of these, I'm going to call it a closed large language model scenario and it created a clone. Imagine if you knew everything there was to know and I'm going to use real estate investing. Could you then have that now that it's databases all put together, could that be something that you could then resell instead of selling, let's say videos and tapes or downloadable documents that actually go out of, go out of style. What if now people sign up and I have you on my smartphone and you're there, I can text or I can listen to or I can watch you and now you're my mentor. That's your new course. I think it's going to change the way people consume that content. And here's the other thing about it. Anytime with my content, let's go back to me originally. Anytime I put new content out, it automatically syncs with my current clone. Now you can choose whether. If you say, hey, at this date, this is the stopping point. Anything new that's put out on any other platform that you want to sync it with, it will stop. I chose to say, hey, anytime I'm putting new content out, which we're putting anywhere from one to three blogs a week, one to three videos a week, a lot of shorts, social media posts, all those type of things. Well, you see all that is being updated. So as an example, this podcast, when it goes live in this broadcast, it will automatically sync with my clone. The reason I really love this is because I'm looking in my office right now where I have purchased educational things that now are no longer relevant the way they were recommending me do. That then no longer applies to how it's done now. Well, this would eliminate all of that. Or I should say, this is eliminating all that. Roll this fast forward and because now you have this database of knowledge, what else could happen? Well, I can create what's called instances of me. So I could say, hey, I have this generalized knowledge, just all this content, all this knowledge for everything that I'm talking about, in this case, digital marketing. But I want to create another Jeff. Only this Jeff is designed to do. And you could decide what you wanted to do. This clone, is this designed to convert people to buy my recurring mentor program. And now I could put that on the social media posts and I could put it out in blog posts and I could say, hey, everybody can interact with it for five, let's say, let's say five questions. And at that point it will ask you to buy and it won't. It won't answer any more questions. The goal is now to be great in service, but also your goal is to sell my full program. And now you just set this thing loose. What does that mean? Well, that means now do you. Will you even need sales funnels? I say no, because every conversation that that's been had will be saved. It'll gather their data and it goes into my database. Now roll this out a little bit further. It's not there yet, but I spoke with the, the developer, the designer, the creator, if you will, of this, this platform about a week ago, and I said, where are we on this scale is if, like I sign people up for my clone program, my mentoring program with my Clone on how to, let's say, how to market their local business. And I'm in their palm of their hand that can answer their questions. And I can also prompt them to ask questions. How far are we along to say, hey, based on their level of understanding of what they're doing and their specific needs. Because it's going to be different if you're a. If you're a florist and you're a yoga studio, it's going to be a little different. How far are we away from the point of my clone will then initiate the contact with this new customer, this new mentee, if you will, and ask them how it's going and if they completed the things that they were supposed to do. In other words, now I have a very interactive mentor and accountability partner. Here's what they said. We're about 30 to 60 days away from this. I mean, just let that sink in for a minute. We're 30 to 60 days away from this to the point where then if anybody wanted to interact with me, I would just send them a link and say, if you have any questions, please go here first. And if you can't have your questions answered through this, which I can't imagine they wouldn't, it freaked me out how smart it was. Oops, that sounded a little conceited because it's all me. But if they can't get their questions answered there, then there's a phone number there to give me a call. And now what's that going to do to customer service service? Imagine you had this on your website and this pops up and it's an avatar view, and it's a knowledge base of all you know about your specific industry. Why would I need to leave the page? I would just have an interactive conversation with you and I would get all the answers I wanted. Here's the other thing. How many can I do with this at the same time? There's no limit. There's no limit. So today I want you to kind of let some of this sink in and think, oh, wow, this stuff is moving at a pretty high rate of speed. And I've just talked about one thing. We've had a lot of things since we've been together the last time that has really changed that we've incorporated. But this cloning process has so many upside possibilities. It's just. It's amazing. It could be. Imagine it could be your study partner if you wanted to learn another language. It could be your study partner if you wanted to learn another skill set. If I decided I wanted to learn, let's say, increase my ability on how to edit videos, whatever. It could be my partner for that. Because then I would then go out and find somebody who has a clone with that level of understanding, that level of knowledge. And I would just have a conversation, because here's a cool thing. Not only is it text, but it's voice. So now I can have a conversation, a voice assistant, if you will. And it makes the process so seamless. I'd love your feedback on this, what your thoughts are. Is this a good thing, a bad thing? How would you use this? It reminded me when I first saw this and I first dove into it. It reminded me of a movie way back when. You might want to look this up with a guy named Michael Keaton. And he had a movie called Multiplicity. And he was able to just, well, I need somebody to do this. And so he would clone himself and that person would go out and do it, and that person had all the understanding, all the knowledge that the original had. So all of a sudden, they had all these little clones out doing all the jobs, taking care of the kids, being at the basketball games, taking care of the customers while the original was at home living life to their fullest. This is how I see this happening. We're not far from that. My name is Jeff Harrison with Swing Point Media. This has been the Local Voice. I hope this is one of those episodes that you know. All of a sudden as you listen to this and you start to imagine all the possibilities, those little hairs on the back of your neck start to stand up or your arm hair start to tingle because you've got a little cold chill because you're thinking, oh, my gosh, it really is the future. The Jetsons are not that far away. Forgive me if you don't know who the Jetsons are. Go check them out. All right, so I'll see you on the next episode. My name is Jeff Harrison.
