Welcome to another episode of the Local Voice, hosted by Jeff Harrison, a practitioner in the world of digital marketing. Get ready to take some notes.
What if you don't have a database and you want to try cooperative marketing? What exactly should you do? Is there an option? Well, stay tuned. I'm going to share an idea with you that could be valuable and less expensive than traditional marketing. Hey, welcome back. I'm Jeff Harrison with the Local Voice and Swing Point Media. You know, in my last video, I talked about cooperative marketing. If you missed that, please check up here and review that because it may be perfect for you. But some people responded back and said, you know, Jeff, this is a great idea. I'd love to do this, but I don't have a database. What do I have to offer? And also I would like to do it more often than once a month or once a quarter. How can I do this to build my business? Well, here's an idea. Let me go back to this example of I'm a barbecue cleaning company. What could I do? Well, let's say, for instance, with everything we do, what do we have? We have some margins built in. We should have some margins built in anyway. And so what I may do is I may reach out to those same customers. In my last example, I used a landscaping company, and what if I said, hey, listen, what if we did this? And for everyone who signs up because of coming through your emails, that I'll give you X number of dollars, let's say I'll give you $50 every time that happens. Well, for that landscaping company, that's an extra free $50 every time one of his customers sign up. And maybe it's one of those things you say, hey, and when they sign up, where do they come? They come to your database that now you're trying to build. So this is going to be a bit of a short video, but it's really designed to help those of those businesses saying, hey, I'm just starting out. I don't have a database. I have nothing to offer. Not so you have some profit you may offer. Now, some people might say, well, why would I? Why would I Do that. Well, you're going to give away some of your profits somewhere at some point, whether it's hiring a marketing company like myself or it's going to be running ads on, you know, Google or Facebook or Instagram or YouTube, wherever you decide, or God forbid, in a newspaper or, you know, local marketing of that way you're going to give away some of your profits. The way this is happening is it's then that closed environment. It's a less noisy location. We talked about that before. Noise and signal. You know, when there's a lot of noise, it's hard for people, your signal to get out to your ideal customer. But if you are now speaking to a very small group, let's say they have a thousand names in their database and you do this well, now if you're giving away $50 and you get 10 new clients, well, if every time you clean a barbecue and you sell it for 350 and you net 250, or let's say $200 every time, I would be, if I'm that barbecue owner, I'd give away that $50 day in and day out. Now here's another cool piece to this particular type of cooperative marketing. I am now not limited to burning out my ideal or, excuse me, my database. Let me do that again. Now, here's another neat part about this particular type of cooperative marketing. And in the last video we talked about, if we both have databases, I can't send out an offer to my database very often or I'll burn them out. But if I now say, you know what, I'm going to do this once a month and I'm going to find a new cooperative marketing partner, guess what? You could have them send out a new database email once a month with a, with a Spiff or some kind of a referral fee. And it wouldn't burn your list out, nor would it burn theirs out because you're only doing it once. And then you have that going in the course of a year, you might build up to the point where you're saying, hey, I now have a database of my thousand names that I did through that process. And maybe it's one of those things. Over the course of 12 months, it might have cost you a few thousand dollars, but it's money well spent because you were able to talk to your ideal customer. You were sent out as a referral to this person's business. And it's a way for you to get new leads and new sales. If you like this idea, let me know. We've got a whole bunch more of these ideas for cooperative marketing that you can do that won't cost you an arm and a leg. And you don't have to ask Facebook, Google, Instagram, or YouTube if you it's okay to do it. My name is Jeff Harrison with swingpunk Media. This is a Local Voice. I hope you enjoyed today's show.
