Knowing Your Numbers In The Kingdom

Denzel Rodriguez walks through personal finance basics like income, expenses, debt, and cash flow from a spiritual angle. He connects money management to faith and purpose, arguing that knowing your numbers matters in what he calls the kingdom.
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening to all my kings and queens, to the almighty kingdom.
Welcome.
My name is Denzel Rodriguez, your fellow kingdom citizen. And today we're going to be picking up from the last video, understanding your credit in the kingdom. Today we're going to be covering knowing your numbers in the kingdom. You got to know your number, your numbers, what you make, what you spend, what you keep, what you invest, all that good stuff. So let's see what we have today on the board, what I wanted to go ahead and do. And when I make videos, I typically always speak for myself regarding numbers and how I do things. And hopefully this encourages you that are just starting out, or maybe you've been in the game for a while and you've just been doing it wrong.
And you.
And you're looking for an effective strategy for your finances. Hopefully this encourages you to change your way of thinking around money, the kingdom, the king, and the account that the king has for its people so that you may proceed in life fulfilling your purpose, your goals, your desires, and being a humble servant. Okay, so in regards to knowing your numbers in the kingdom, I decided to lay out my figures so that you can have something that you can measure against to see what are you missing, what do you have, what don't you have? And we can go from there. Okay, so there's four major numbers in life that you need to know, okay. Before we do anything, I don't care who you are, how old you are, you got to know these four major numbers. That's your net monthly income after taxes, net your total expense number. This is living debt, payments, tithing, saving, investment, taxes.
Everything.
That leaves your checking account is what I call an expense.
Okay?
Others may not do that, but when I'm working with people and when I do my own personal finances, I record everything as an expense. And then whatever's left over is what I call free cash flow.
Okay?
So your expenses is everything that leaves your checking account. And then we want to look at your total debt, how much total debt that you have? Yes. Include your mortgage.
Okay?
I can't tell you how many conversations I have with people that don't think their mortgage is really debt. No, no, no. You have debt, okay? Your mortgage is debt. Until you own that thing, that is a liability, your house is not an asset. I don't care what nobody says. If that thing ain't paying you money, creating cash flow, that is a liability, my friend. If the money leaves your checking account, you have a liability. It's not an asset. So that is Considered a debt. Anything that you're paying to an institution to pay off is debt.
Okay?
So you want to get that total number. Not only do you want to get the number that you owe, but you also want to get the interest rate that you're paying on each and every one of those debts. You want to know the monthly payment on each and every one of those debts, the minimum monthly payment. And you also want to know the maturity date for each one of your debts. Okay, the maturity date. Basically, you know, for a mortgage, okay, you got 30 years, okay? 30 years from now, it'll be paid off if you kept paying a monthly minimum payment. So what is that maturity date? And then based off that maturity date, you'll be able to get an idea of the total amount of interest that you'll pay if you were to just pay the monthly minimum payment. Okay, so you want to get those four major. Look at that, four major numbers. Four major numbers, okay? You want to get that. Then you're left with cash flow.
O.
Okay, Free cash flow money that goes absolutely nowhere.
Okay?
This is free money. This is money that you have the power to change your whole way of thinking around money. This cash flow number will determine how successful and how well you manage money in your life. This is your measuring stick in terms of how well you're performing at your current age, health and finances in your life and your family and your people around you. This will determine how free you are from the money. How free? Okay, some people are kind of free. Some people are, okay, they have security, you know, they have good savings or whatever. Or maybe you're way in the tubes, your back's against the wall, you're on your last leg, you know, you're just not doing good. This will reflect. This is your measuring stick. So cash flow, very, very, very, very importante. Alright? The next number you need to know is your tax rate.
Okay?
If you live in the U.S. economy, okay? For those who are watching this in the United States, you need to know your tax rate based on the category that you live under.
Alright?
There's a different tax rate for every single person.
All right?
Majority of the population lives on the E and the S side.
Okay?
Employee, self employed. If you live on this side, you pay the highest tax pay, period. You need to know this, all right? For those that live on this side, they pay the lowest tax, they make the most money and they pay the lowest tax. You ever wonder why these guys are able to just give tons of money away? It's because they're on a Different quadrant. They're in a different position than you are.
Okay?
So one must understand how to make that transition from E and the S to lower that overall tax rate number. So wherever you're currently at, you want to look this up, you can Google it, or you can ask your CPA or, you know, ask someone smarter than you and ask them, where do I go? Where do I find out my, you know, tax rate? And you'll get an answer based on what quadrant you are in. So me, I'm on this side, right? But then I have a little bit of this here. So I'm like, I'm self employed, but I'm also a business owner and I'm also an investor, okay? So I got like that, all right? And then I'm also this, technically, because my business pays me money, so I'm pretty much all that, right? But I don't pay as much tax as people that just stay over here. See, if you just stay over here on this side, you're always going to lose when it comes to the tax game. So that's why you have to learn how to, how to get all the quadrants, okay? How to, how to eventually move over completely over here and disregard that. Then you're, then you're playing the real money game.
Okay?
So I looked up my tax rate 26.9%. This is, you know, I'm an S corporation, so I'm an LLC taxed as an S corporation. So, you know, I looked up on Google, I was, okay, 26.9%. So if I'm making 20,000amonth, you times that by 12. I actually, I looked at last year's numbers, so I brought in this much so far. So 244,000 was my last year's numbers. Take that number, you times it by 26.9%.
Boom.
$65,636 is what I got to pay Uncle Samo. In order for me to lower that number, I have to learn how to transition the E and the S over to the B and the I so I can lower my tax liability number.
Okay?
So while I'm making this money, and for those that are watching as well, and I'm tracking my expenses, right? And I know my numbers, right? You need to understand, how can you lower this tax liability to the US So that you have more money to what, give more money to invest more money to spend more money to use to grow your kingdom, to expand the kingdom of heaven here on earth and get God's influence in your life? So, so that you can spread the good news, my friend. The good news. Okay, now, so that's just one number, okay? The next thing is giving 10%. That's standard. You know, you can consider the first 10%. You consider, you know, tithe, you can use that word. Then anything above that is, you know, offerings, givings, right? So for me, 10% of 2, 244, boom. 24,400.
Okay?
And then investment. This, you're, you know, you're pretty much free to choose how you want to do this. I think a nice number to start with would be 10% of what you make. And this goes back to a golden rule of, you know, living off 70% of what you make and preserving the other 30 for taxes, giving and investment. So that at some point in your life this number would supersede that number in passive income, right? Important word, passive. Because you and I both understand that no man, mankind cannot work forever, right? You can't, right? You're gonna, your body is going to decay. It's going to get less energy, you're going to, you know, perform less. Someone's going to beat you at your own game eventually. So you have to develop a different type of work, right? So you can work your whole entire life. It's just a matter of the way you define that word work, right? Work could simply mean to some people as working for the man. Working, working for someone. Whereas to me, work means my purpose. Work means becoming a king. That's what work means to me. So you have to define these words for yourself so you can understand how you can proceed in life in terms of making money and knowing your numbers in the kingdom. Very, very important. So one can figure out a way how to get this number to create passive income. So that my have to work becomes want to work. I want to work. I don't have to, but I want to. I love to because it's my purpose. Get it?
Alright.
So for me, My number is 35%. So 35% of 244 is 85,000. That's how much I'm throwing towards investment, right? So we got 35%, 10%, 26.9.
Okay?
When you add up these three numbers, right, this is going even deeper into knowing your numbers, right? So I add up these three numbers. Boom, I get $175,036, minus 244. From the 175, you get $68,964. Divide that by 12, you get $5,747 per month. So I myself have figured out how to live on 28 to 29%. So what did I do? I actually inverted this. I switched it. I live on 30 and I save 70. Why not?
Right?
So the way that I did that was by developing personal development, figuring out my purpose, trusting in Christ that he would provide space for me in the marketplace, by utilizing my spiritual gifts and talents to explore that in the marketplace. Very, very important for you to figure that out. And by doing this, once I figured that out, then I was like, well, you know, back before I was making this much money, I was only making 2,000amonth. So I was like, okay, well, how do I maintain that number? And if I have to increase it, I only want to increase it by a little bit, right? Not even that much. So look how I went from 2,000 to 5,000. That's my living expense. This is, you know, and then obviously staying out of debt helps a ton as well, so I don't have to pay, you know, ridiculous interest rates and whatnot. So I figure out how to live on 29, maybe 30% of my income, okay? And then preserve the other 70 to pay taxes, to give tithe and invest the money so that one day I don't have to work, I want to work. And I can continue to, you know, do what it is that I work, wish to do in my life. That excites me, that brings passion, that brings love, that brings energy, focus, performance, attention, grace, glory, ownership, management over resources. I can become a good steward. I can be fruitful and multiply on this earth. Multiply what? I can multiply myself, right, by creating offspring. Okay, that's one way. But another way is I can produce products, produce services that would add value to another individual's life. And then by doing so, the Lord blesses me with more and more and more and more. And you rejoice, and you rejoice in the finished works of Jesus Christ, my friend, right? So when you get that stuff by simply knowing your numbers in the kingdom, so you can rise above the system that you live in, and you can serve humbly without a worry. You don't even blink an eye, right? You look at a number, oh, let's see. You know, I made a half a million dollars. I got to give 10% to God. That's 50 grand. You don't even blink an eye. Just do it. And then you're like, well, since I know God's system works, what if I gave 20%? What if I gave 30? What if I gave 40? What's God going to do to me then. Let's see.
Right?
You know, I don't know what your relationship is with God, right? But I have a very, very exciting fun. I try to make it fun, okay? You know, you listen to a lot of people, and when they talk about God, everything's so serious. Everything's so, uh, law, uh, commandments, uh, right. They don't make it fun, okay? My relationship with God is exciting. It is passionate. It's full of love and excitement and joy and man performance and focus and actual relationship. I can talk to the guy, right? I can access him at any point in my life. I can tell him to join me right here.
Hey, hey.
Sit right here, you know, hold me up, keep my posture good and my face smiling and excited. And so my relationship with Christ, with God according to money, right? Allows me to open doors and open opportunities. So instead of having money being a delay to you, right. By not having the right information, you can access God by having conversations with him through prayer, through relationship building, personal development, and managing resources that he gives you so that he can bless you with more. And when you know your numbers, this allows you to be very, very effective in the marketplace, in the world. So you want to work on that relationship that you have with God when it comes to your money so he can help, you know, your numbers even further. Because, listen, nobody's going to get it for you, okay? Your numbers are your numbers, right? No one's going to figure it out for you. No. Financial coach, life coach, listen, they're going to give you what tools and resources to help you track and develop, right? But it's up to you to actually put in the work so you can see where you're at, what you're doing. Very, very, very important that you guys get this. So you got to know your numbers. Income, expense, debt, cash flow, your tax rate, what you give and what you're going to invest in. I mean, what you're going. How much you're going to invest. We're not going to talk about what we're going to invest in just yet. That'll be another video. Getting ahead of myself. 70, 30. That's a. That's a great golden rule. 10% invest, 10% tax, 10% giving and tithing. And obviously, that number can increase based on how you live. So I learned how to live on 28, 30% of my income. I'm sure there's so many other people out there that can do the same. Okay. Yes. I'm 24. Yeah. I live at home.
Right.
You know, I Got all these advantages. You're totally right. But I know people, okay? Clients and people that tell me how they spend so little and they live an awesome life, right? And they're happy with them. They're not comparing themselves to Mr. And Mrs. Jones, okay? They're comparing themselves to their yesterday self. It's very important that you do the same thing, okay? So I hope that was very effective for you. Knowing your numbers in the kingdom, getting it all down, getting it straight. Listen, you got to spend time on this. This is super important. Four major numbers. No tax. Read, read about taxes, man. This, this is like a huge portion of your income. Imagine if I had to actually pay that 26.9%, $65,000. There's no way on earth I'm paying that to the irs. God doesn't even ask me for that much money. Why should I pay a government? An economy, right? Are you serious?
Right?
So we got to learn, right? So if I don't learn, then I got to pay them that, right? And now I'm screwed, right? I got to learn how to bring that number all the way down to this number or even less than that number. The only way I'm going to do that is by going from the in the S over to the B and the I side so I can lower my tax liability and then obtaining information, you know, learning about S Corp LLCs, learning about HSA account, learning about insurance protection, learning about different investments where I can preserve money, store money tax free, tax deferred, different terminologies. Very, very important stuff.
Okay?
Hope you guys are. I hope this is really sinking in with you. You got to know your numbers in the kingdom if you're going to be a successful king here on Earth. Got to know your numbers. Next video. We're going to keep expanding this, okay? I'm going to keep opening it up. So I highly suggest that you watch these videos in order so that you can get a nice understanding. We can keep cracking open the money code, okay? The money game, the system. So like I said, you can rise above it, transition and live under the kingdom of heaven and have the kingdom of God's influence take over your life, have his will be your will. You get in alignment, you increase your relationship with money and with God so that you become free from the money and become a humble servant with Christ. With that tool, money allows you to simply do more of what God wants you to do. Without the money, you are limited to what you can do with what God gave you. You're limited, period. But when you have the money. It allows you access to resources, access to knowledge, access to more wisdom that can be shared from person to person, access to opportunities from person to person so that you can ultimately live the life that you want to live. My name is Denzel Rodriguez. Have a wonderful day. God bless.
