Why You DON'T Need To Budget To Get Out of Debt

A faith-based approach to debt payoff that skips budgeting entirely. Instead of cutting expenses, shift your time from dopamine hits like streaming toward purposeful work and creation. The speaker says this mindset change naturally frees up $500 to $1,000+ monthly without a formal budget.

Who do you want to be? Who has God called you to be? What anointing, what skills, gifts and talents has God put over your life that he wants you to be doing? Based on those answers, I try to get a little bit of an understanding there. I then look at the way you currently live, compare it to intentional living, which is faith with works. Then I draw the distinction. I say, hey, the way you're living today, according to what your money says is not in alignment with how God has set you up to be based on your skills, gifts and talents and what your purpose is and who you should be serving and where you should be located and all these different things. So we begin to dissect the expenses to say, oh, you're spending 40% of your time on Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Pandora, Spotify, HBO, Max, Showtime Cinema, right? I can, I can identify where your time is based on where you spend your money very easily. And I can say, oh, here's where you can make an improvement. Because guess what, with that way of thinking, you're actually not cutting off any anything. When you redirect time, money follows. So if you let go of something in your finances that wasn't even in alignment with how you want to be living, you're not losing anything. And guess what? Because you have a different mindset now about it, you don't need a budget. Why? Because you didn't want it in the first place. You had it because maybe it was bringing something, some sort of temporary pleasure which equates to dopamine. And that dopamine hit happened so fast that the power of that dopamine hit as fast as it came, is as fast as it left. So what do you do? You rinse and repeat. You need more of that dopamine hit, which is why you keep going on that social media platform, which is why we have our sins or crutches that holds us back and our money goes in that direction because that's where our time was spent. But you know, in your heart of hearts, in your faith, you actually don't want those things. So what I do is I replace the temporary pleasure dopamine hit that you are getting with something that is everlasting, something that brings consistent, ongoing joy. And so as we begin to reverse engineer those things that are taking away from you, your money, putting it into an intentional living framework and strategy, you don't have to budget. You're not cutting anything off, you're not reducing. You didn't lose anything because you never wanted it in the first place. Does that make sense? Very interesting when you frame it in this particular way. So now let's assume everybody in here is operating with faith and works together. We can still use the term intentional living. For now, that's still pretty healthy. You now go from consuming, which was not your original plan in the Garden of Eden. You now step into the original plan in the Garden of Eden given to Adam and Eve, and we get to discover the formula for wealth, multiplication, purpose, and fulfillment. Where do we find that in Genesis 1:26, 28? In a nutshell, it's be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, dominion. Like that's the end game. Like, this is the way we ought to operate according to the Creator. And because you were created by a creator, you were created to create. I don't have a problem with consuming. I actually don't because that's the only way to use money. So when you look at traditional, the mindset that this creates creates a scarcity mindset, which is why I don't teach it this way. If I teach it this way, hey, how do we become intentional living beings who, working for the Father, in unison with our, in sync with our faith, how do we create more than what we consume? So we flip. That means I'm not necessarily consuming less, although it may look like that, because I let go of some things, I'm actually potentially consuming more. Because when you operate in the kingdom, you might be consuming a lot. It just depends on what that consumption is. Are you consuming the Bible daily? Right? Are you consuming, you know, all these different kinds of things that is actually improving your life and you're doubling down on it. Like for me, for example, I consume a ton of content online, on social media, I consume a ton of content, probably more than the average person that I speak to. But at the same time, if you look at my creation, I create way more content than I consume on the Internet. So I'm putting out hours upon hours upon hours of content out there in the world on a weekly basis. But I'm also consuming hours and hours because I'm trying to improve myself, get better. I'm reading the Word, I'm listening to sermons. I'm also engaged in my business, right? I'm learning how to get better in finance and learning this new tax strategy or learning this new move with money, or learning this new industry, you know, cryptocurrencies, you name it. I'm consuming a lot, but I'm also creating a massive amount. So all I did was flip the script. I didn't necessarily Cut, budget, reduce. Because ultimately that creates a scarcity mindset. And the God that I follow does not operate in scarcity. When we look at the formula of how we're supposed to operate, as if we were still in the garden today. And so we look at that original scripture, this is an abundance play, an abundance strategy. So let's assume we've overcome this in this particular setting. Just for now, play with me for a minute that you've flipped the script from consuming more than you create. Now you're creating more than what you consume. That move alone. I have seen people recover 500 to 1000 plus or more in cash flow easily, easily, without even doing a strategy. It's just a redirection of time, focus and attention on the things that actually matter in your life. And what's so interesting, when we follow the Lord, it doesn't cost a whole lot of money to follow Christ. It requires a lot of our time, but it doesn't require a lot of our money. Just mind blowing. And the amount of increase that we can have when we follow the Lord in this depth is insane. I don't even know how to measure the rate of return on following Christ. It's infinite. But when you do that, oh my goodness, the ideas that you develop in these major areas in life, the key word that begins to occur is efficiency. You start to have the efficiency conversation. Is it efficient for me to spend my time here or here? Is it efficient for me to spend time with that person or with this person? And you will begin to see that the things that you should be spending more time in actually don't require as much money. You begin to let go of things that were costing you more money. You get a different kind of dopamine that's lasting everlasting. Now your cup is full. Now you can pour. So let's assume we accomplish this right, because this is part of my practice. Obviously this doesn't happen overnight, even if you're a Christian for God knows how many years. I talked to Christians in their 60s and 70s that never heard it broken down like this before. And they're like the. The amount of success in such a short period of time that monetarily can occur is really cool to watch. But it's less about the money for me. It's more about the connection and relationship with God that increases to astronomical levels. Just really, really cool. So we're going to table that. I'd like you to make sure you're taking your notes of what I've discussed so far. You can Take a little screenshot. I'm going to. I'm going to erase that in a minute. Okay? So do what you got to do. Take those notes because then I'm going to erase it. I'm going to come back to the strategies now. So most of the time, if I'm talking to a non believer, I may not spend too much time on this because they paid me for the strategy. They paid me to say, look, this is what I'm dealing with. What do you got for me? How can I make this work? I spent a little bit of time in here so I can get an idea of what kind of person I'm dealing with. Is this person disciplined? Are they undisciplined? Right. I don't want to give them a strategy, in other words, a loaded gun, and then they shoot themselves in the foot. So I also do some fact finding to discover that. But when I am talking with a faith person of faith, man or woman of faith, I may spend a little bit more time here to really grasp the, you know, what's at stake in their life as it pertains to their money and how we can dramatically make improvements. All right, so that's why I did spend a bulk of our time here today on that. I help moms women build wealthy kingdoms that will last forever to have authority over their finances by helping them pay off debt, increase cash flow, lower your expenses, build your credit, all using your own income.
