The most rewarding part of my day is probably seeing that customer satisfaction, seeing the customer walk through the door and leave with a smile. Never knowing what's going to come in the door, every day is something different. My name is Olivia Barsley and I work at Hutcheon Pearce Cowra in New South Wales. I grew up in Western Australia in Perth CBD. When I was young, I just had that interest into mainly livestock. It was always something in the back of my brain just being like, uni's not the place for you, like go out, work on a farm, like getting my getting my hands dirty is what I really wanted to do. I moved over to New South Wales and did my Cert III in Agriculture at Tocal College, and then ever since then I've moved out to the Cowra region and kind of just found Hutchin Pearce and something that I'm interested in, gonna stick with for a while now.
The winner of the Parts and Premises of the Year for Australia and New Zealand is Olivia Varghese.
I'd like to thank John Deere Australia and New Zealand for putting on the event and for what they've put out for the last 3 days. I'm very glad to be a woman in ag and part of the Australian farming economy. Absolutely amazing. I can't believe it. Like, out of this world. Definitely wasn't something that I was expecting. But yeah, I'm very glad that it happened the way it did. For anyone who wants to get into the parts role side in agriculture, I would say just get in, give it a crack. It doesn't matter if you're wrong as long as you're interested in learning. It's not as daunting as it sounds and it's definitely interesting to me every day.
