This is a YouTube video titled "3038E Demonstration on Properly Weighting Your Tractor" containing a demonstration recorded on May 16, 2019, showing how to properly ballast a 3038E tractor using pallet forks and a box blade. The video features Phillip Stow and other participants explaining the effects of rear ballast on tractor lifting performance.
How you doing, guys? My name is Phillip Stow. We're here live at Sunsouth in Dothan Today, going to show a quick demonstration on tractor ballasts. We get a lot of questions, concerns people. Customers buy tractors won't lift what they need to do, or maybe if it's lifting, it's picking the tractor up one way or the other. So we're going to do a quick demonstration. Both tractors are 3038E. Both are equipped with a set of frontier pallet forks. One tractor has a box blade hooked up to it to show that ballast weight in the rear, and. And the other one is empty on the rear. So what we're going to do in this demonstration, Tina is going to lift the set of weights that she's got on the pallet. She's going to drive forward, show how the tractor reacts, and then she's going to set the pallet down, back away from it, and then Josh is going to hook up to it the same way, but without the rear ballast to show you the difference between the two.
Now, it's always important to remember. Remember that when you're doing any kind of loader work that you want to have your tractor at a higher RPM, 2000 or above, and you want to be in low range anytime you've got weight. So you see she's bringing it up. Go ahead and bring it on up. Right about 4 foot right in there. Okay, Pull forward. That's good.
All right.
And then, so you see the weight of the tractor, everything was smooth. Now, roughly, this is about 1200 pounds in the front.
All right?
So it down real easy. Okay. And go ahead and back out for me. And all we've got on the back of this is the frontier box blade. So roughly about £600 in the rear. So we're splitting the difference right in half. All right, thank you, Tina. That's good.
